Janela do Mar is a privately owned Villa which has been totally refurbished to a very high standard in 2009. It is set in approx 3,000 sq.m plot with private electric gates and landscaped gardens with Private South West Facing Pool. There is a large Weber gas BBQ for alfresco dining with comfortable outdoor furniniture. The patio has excellent private sea views and there is a all weather Table Tennis for some leisure during your stay. The Lounge has a 40' LED TV, DVD player, surround, Sonos system and Wifi. The Kitchen has been fitted with an American Fridge Freezer with Ice Maker, Hob, Oven with Extractor Hood, Dishwasher and Coffee Machine. The Laundry Room is fitted with Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer. The Master Suite is located on the first floor with own private bathroom and terrace and fantastic sea views. The other three bedrooms and two bathrooms are located on the ground floor.






Carvoeiro: Carvoeiro is a pretty fishing village with its own beach just 45 minutes along the coast road west of Faro Airport and 3 hours south of Lisbon . Still retaining the character and tradition of Portuguese life, the local shops and mini-Mercado's sell most of the things you will need. There is also a Bank, Bureau de Change, Pharmacy and 2 Doctors Clinics. Carvoeiro has all the essentials for the perfect holiday.

The local market sells fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and locally caught fish. There is also a good butcher and a baker in the village. The much larger town of Portimao with its fishing harbour, numerous restaurants and many varied shops is only 10 minutes drive away. A whole day can be spent there starting with breakfast of freshly caught sardines grilled alfresco by the harbour side.


Restaurants - Bars - Nightlife: The many bars and restaurants offer all types of cuisine including Vietnamese, Italian, French and of course Portuguese, where you can enjoy an excellent meal of freshly caught fish and sample the famous inexpensive Portuguese wines. Prices vary so check the menu outside. All of the restaurants welcome children and some have special children's menus.

Golf and Tennis, Slide'n'Splash.: Our property is within walking distance of the on the beautiful Vale do Milho course. Rounds can be arranged through the Club House. There are two more courses in Carvoeiro, these are Gramacho and Pinta and facilities here also include a driving range. The championship course at Penina a 20 minute drive away and the world famous Vilamoura is a 35 minute drive. Vale do Lobo is only a 40 minute drive away. If taking golf clubs, these may need to be notified to your airline. A half set is allowed per person but is included in the baggage allowance (20 kilos).
Other Activities: Tennis Club at Rocha Brava which is a 5 minute walk. Slide'n'Splash is 10 min drive away.

Excellent holiday

We had a great stay at Janelo do Mar. The villa is in a great location near restaurants and a short drive to beautiful beaches. We had a few issues which Isabel did her best to sort out. One point I would raise is the lack of lighting by the BBQ area. We were only a family of 4 so could eat during the evening at the small table outside the villa overlooking the pool but we couldn’t see to BBQ! The bathrooms are modern and towels and toilet roll are supplied which is a nice touch. Also some basics in the kitchen too which was brilliant

Very good

The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. Communication with Isobel was excellent . Any problems answered very quickly. Great location. Just a few things to make it perfect would be outside furniture not overly comfortable, pool needs re tiling as a couple of sharp tiles. Table tennis table in poor condition and probably needs replacing.

Superb property & quite location

Isabel was a great communicator from the start and very responsive and helpful. The villa is generally is very spacious and presented impeccable clean thanks the the effort of Christina (the house keeper) who also visits mid week during the stay. The kitchen is very well equipped with decent appliances and the small kitchen equipment, outside there’s a big gas BBQ (supplied with gas). The large pool was great, especially on the hotter days, along with options of seating/sun beds and parasols for additional shade. Intermarché supermarket is 5 minutes away by car and has all your needs covered. A couple of local family run restaurant’s which are a 10 minute walk down the road and well worth a visit, Rocha Mar Restaurante and Jardim do Farol. Carvoeiro is an easy drive and a nice little place, not too commercialised yet but does get busy later in the day. All in all a great property and location of a quite family holiday.

Heerlijke uitvalsbasis voor twee weken Algarve

Een heerlijke ruim huis waar we met 8 volwassenen verbleven. Kamers en badkamers waren schoon en ruim. Uitstekende voorzieningen. Goed uitgeruste keuken en heerlijk grote koelkast. Zwembad was heerlijk. Zeker aan te bevelen dus.

Lovelly and quiet villa for relaxing holidays

Great house for our family holidays. Clean, spacious and confortable. Isabel is very friendly, helpful and always available. Cristina, the cleaning lady, is also very nice and friendly. Great staff! Nice kitchen and bathrooms. We loved the welcome drink at the fridge. The rooms are good with lots of storage. The beds are soft, which was not as appreciated by us but it’s a matter of taste. Pool towels are available. Although there was air conditioning, not all units were functioning. Pool and the outside area are great. Ping pong table is quite old and we couldn't play properly.

Very Nice Villa

Overall the villa was very nice. The AC units in the family room and kitchen wouldn't come on most of the time, but that didn't really matter because it wasn't hot outside. We would stay there again.

A great location and wonderful home. The outdoor shower and washroom were convenient to have near the pool and we appreciated having pool towels and lounge chairs for everyone. We also appreciated being able to communicate with Isabel. Thank you for a great stay!

A great stay

Isabel was great from the very start. Very quick responses and really helpful. There were a couple of little issues during our stay-nothing serious but Isabel got them sorted very quickly. The villa has lots of space and the kitchen is well equipped. We loved the pool and the sun beds are great. 2 new parasols and a sunshade over the dining table provide shade if that’s what you want. Directions say that the Lighthouse bar is 10 mins away but there is a little back way in which means you are there in 3 minutes! It’s a lovely place and we very happily went there several times for aperitifs or dinner. Not the cheapest but a lovely terrace and good food. Staff are very friendly too. Carvoeiro is an easy drive and a nice little place. Less spoiled than some of the other towns. All in all, to be recommended.

Preciosa y súper cómoda.

La casa es preciosa y súper cómoda!!!! Habitaciones espaciosas con buenos armarios. Baños nuevos. Cocina con todo tipo de utensilios y pequeños electrodomésticos. Terraza y Zona de la piscina súper amplia con muchas hamacas, baño exterior para no tener que entrar en la casa. Isabel la propietaria estuvo pendiente de nosotros para garantizar una perfecta estancia y así fue. Totalmente recomendable!!! Muchas gracias Isabel!!!🙏🏼🤗

Beautiful sea views from a good location

The positives Great location near Rocha Brava. Villa has great views of the sea views especially from the terrace. Beautiful good sized swimming pool with beach towels provided Lovely equipped kitchen and utility room Tv with wide range of channels, sonas music system, great internet and strong phone signal. Nice modern bathrooms with rain fall showers . Excellent terrace with beautiful sea views Excellent communication from the owner and quick response for any queries. The not so positives. But could be easily resolved by the owner Only 6 plastic sunloungers and 3 had a broken support bars To eat together as a party of 8 would be at the circular wooden table but is very tired and has wobbly chairs. Wood has become lose. Other table and chairs seat 4s Overall we had a lovely holiday at this villa

It was our second stay in this villa and it was again a nice one. We really like the villa: quiet & nice place, comfortable, amazing view on the sea, well located to explore a fabulous region... The relationships with the owner are friendly. In summary, a nice and pleasant place for a successful break.

A FUIR ABSOLUMENT

Je mets 1 étoile car on ne peut pas mettre 0. L’annonce indiquait une mise à disposition à 14h. A notre arrivée à 15h, quelle déception ! Les draps usagés des anciens occupants étaient encore dans les lits, des sacs poubelles remplis de déchets se trouvaient dans la cuisine et les salles de bains. Les sols intérieur et extérieur et les poignées de portes étaient tellement collants que nous n’osions les toucher. Bref, le logement est resté dans l’état dans lequel les anciens locataires l’ont laissé . 2 heures après notre appel à la propriétaire une équipe de 3 personnes se présente pour la nettoyer. Ce n’est qu’à 19h30 que nous pouvons enfin disposer de la maison, toutefois vu l’état de celle-ci ils n’ont pas pu faire de miracle, notre première journée est gâchée. De nouveau quelle déception! Le canapé est rempli de tâches cachées par des couvertures, la console de jeux annoncée est manquante toute comme le lecteur dvd et la cd-thèque, 6 transats en piteux état sont présents or la villa est annoncée pour 8 personnes, la machine à café fuit, la table de Ping-pong est inutilisable au regard de son état de délabrement total, la balançoire est pleine de déjections d’oiseaux (les enfants ne peuvent s’en servir), aucun parasol, la table extérieure est très usagée et bancale. Le nombre de serviettes de toilettes est très limité et leur qualité est médiocre, une ampoule sur deux ne fonctionne pas et cela dans chaque pièce, nous avons même dû vider le lave-vaisselle encore plein des précédents occupants, l’épuisette de la piscine déjà bien usée à été rafistolée avec de la ficelle mais reste inutilisable, certaines poignées de porte sont cassées, l’étendoir à linge est de taille ridicule pour 8 personnes. Nous passons sur la présence de nombreuses fourmis à l’intérieur de la maison. Les photos du site montrent pourtant un logement impeccable. Beaucoup d’équipements de la maison annoncés sont inutilisables voire manquants. Le comportement de la propriétaire est très décevant, nous ne l’avons eue qu’une seule fois au téléphone, le seul contact que nous avons eu ensuite c’est avec son répondeur. Nous l’avons rappelée et lui avons envoyé des mails pour lui faire part de la situation. Elle ne nous a jamais contactés, ce qui est inacceptable. Pour conclure, ce n’est qu’après notre départ (10 jours après) qu’elle nous envoie enfin un mail pour nous indiquer qu’elle retient la caution pour des dommages que aurions causé !! Un conseil fuyez…

Fantastic villa

The villa is fantastic. Very spacious inside and out with a big pool. Has everything you need for a great holiday. Isabel let us check in early as our flight arrives in the morning so the kids were in the pool by lunchtime! Great communication with the owner and the villa is well equipped with a decent gas BBQ and modern kitchen. The views from the top balcony of the sea are great. There are a few good restaurants in walking distance and 3 supermarkets within 5 mins drive. You could walk to the nearest beach in about 20 mins.

Beautiful villa with lovely views

The villa was really lovely. Views from the master bedroom and balcony especially were fantastic. We all used the pool every day and the air conditioning and Sonos sound system were nice touches. The villa was so comfortable we didn't feel we needed to venture too far except to walk to the nearby beaches a couple of times, plus a trip to the Slide and Splash park for the children. I would also recommend a boat trip to see the caves around the coastline. All in all a great place to spend a relaxing holiday.

Quiet location villa

A well equipped and spacious villa set in large grounds. The furnishings are clean, basic and suitable for a relaxing stay. Large supermarkets are a 5 minute drive away and a car is recommended. A hoppa bus is available into Carveoira from the bottom of the road running every half hour. Lots of restaurants found in town. 20 minute walk to nearest beach.
