La Palombara

An oasis in a busy town ideal to use as a base. The hotel was lovely, but what made it special was the staff who were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The grounds and hotel were immaculately maintained. I had a great massage in the spa. Again the staff were welcoming ensuring you were put at ease and relaxed. The turnaround on daily room clean was one of the best we have ever experienced not sure how it was done so quickly. Transfers to town or train station were easily arranged with reception directly or using WhatsApp. Reception and restaurant staff were very welcoming and helpful. Located outside a busy town, but was easy for day trips (Pompeii, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi) and we had some great meals at extremely reasonable prices. You can walk to Villa San Marco and Arianna which are really worth visiting (unbelievably free entry). It made for a unique experience unlike the standard chain hotels where you could be anywhere.
