Excellent hotel for our family of three. Modern facilities, very clean, and helpful staff. Good location, close to heritage areas (though no views from the suite). Ask staff to help you make dinner reservations, as walk-in space was hard to come by in the better restaurants. Only quibble was the 6/10 breakfast buffet, which was probably just our tastes. Otherwise would definitely recommend, and would stay there again.

Our favorite hotel during our trip to Japan! We really enjoyed the large bathroom and shower area with tub, the room was a nice size with a comfortable bed, and we enjoyed having a balcony. Easy walk to the train and plenty of nearby temples and shrines. Will definitely stay here again next time we are in Kyoto.

The staff went above and beyond! The lady at the front desk speak Spanish, English and Japanese and she was always trying to help. You can’t beat this place in regards cost/location versus other options. Done hesitate to book it

We love this hotel for multiple reasons. To begin with, it is the most English language friendly place we stayed in our recent trip to Japan as they have English speaking staff onsite every day. Located in the middle of Gion area, it is within a few minutes of walking distance to the popular sightseeing spots such as Kiyomizu-dera, Yasaka Pagoda and Yasaka Shrine, which gave us the advantage of leisurely visiting these places in the early mornings before the crowds arrived. The hotel room was surprisingly large in addition to being well maintained and tastefully decorated. This hotel will be on top of our list of choices when we visit Kyoto again.

Excellent overall. We had the king room Bathroom is great with the stone tub and a finland made sauna! No problem communicating with staff. Walkable to different attractions and tourist spots. We arrived earlier in day 1 and was able to get checked in early. Highly recommend!

This hotel is absolutely amazing. We learned it opened about a month ago. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was spacious for our family of 4 and was so very clean and the decor was inviting. The bathroom is just as amazing. It was large with a sauna and a separate glassed room with a shower and tub. The hotel offers free coffee, lattes etc at all times with a state of the art machine in the lobby. Breakfast is offered for free every morning. The hotel is in an amazing location in Gion and within walking distance of all the culture, food and shopping Gion has to offer. If you come to Gion Kyoto the Gion Elite Terrace is a must stay.
