We enjoyed our time - family plus grandparents
We stayed here for a week and a half with grandparents and had a great time. The pool across the street was a hit (fun slide and great ‘beach’ zero depth entry) and the actual beach in front of the property was fun to play in the waves. We checked out the turtles on poipu beach and everything was within walking distance. The place was nice and I understand some updates are coming with the new owner! Will be wonderful I’m sure.

The weekend was too short!
After visiting my son and daughter-in-law in Maui for a week with my girlfriend and her husband, we all flew to Kauai for the weekend. I only wish we had more time. The condo was decorated beautifully and the great room area was very spacious. The pool, hot tub and gym across the street exceeded our expectations. I also loved having restaurants and shopping so close. We enjoyed a happy hour each evening on Poipu Beach watching the sea turtles sleep and also got to see an endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal resting on the beach as well. Great location!

Great vacation!

Family Vacation Getaway
We stayed here with older kids for a family vacation. The location was great, the space was nice. The only downside to the place was the living room furniture. It was a little uncomfortable to sit in the chairs and couch. The condo is just a short walk to the beach and nearby hotels. We had an amazing time there and it was a vacation to remember.

Amazing location and great property!
Great place to stay. Easy check in and checkout. Convenient location to the athletic club and less than 5 minute walk to the beach. There is also a great south facing reef break for surfing which was an awesome surprise!

Great spot for family Kauai trip
We had a great two-week stay at this property, which is conveniently located walking distance to several amenities and a couple beaches. Volker and Gina were very communicative and provided lots of good recommendations. Would definitely return!

AMAZING
My family and I had so much fun staying at the Kiahuna Plantation. It was the perfect location on the South Shore. We got to see Sea Turtles basking on the beach, a monk seal sunning itself and so much fish on Poipu beach. An added bonus, the Koala Plantation Days celebration was also happening during our stay, which added some neat free attractions. Thank you for your accommodations, we look forward to our return.

Just what we needed
thank you Volkner and Gina you place was just what we needed. Having breakfast out on the patio each morning woth a view of the big tree was so peaceful. Even though the place does not have central Ac, we found it comfortable at night. We found a surf board and 2 boogie boards in the closet. Along with 2 beach chairs and 2 beach umbrellas and a raft and fins. Thanks for keeping it simple! chill time in Kauai for sure!

Summer Vacation
Always a nice stay at Kiahuna. Volker was very helpful with advice prior to the stay. Unit was fully equipped with kitchenware and beach toys and chairs. A very enjoyable stay!

Great Location. Great Amenities!
The Kiahuna Plantation was a wonderful location with easy access to it's own beachfront. Lounge chairs, towels, and ocean gear available to all guests. Our teenagers loved the Athletic Center across the street with the pool and very nice gym. The condo was very clean and had plenty of room for our family of five. The beautiful tree overlooking the lanais and the sound of the birds in the morning will never be forgotten. Volker and Gina were wonderful hosts with many great travel tips. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home away from home.

Great stay
Our family of 4 stayed just two short nights. We loved the location of the property and our teens really enjoyed the use of the surfboard. Both the property and condo were immaculate.

Great location
Super easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Beautiful property. The condo is nice and as advertised. Stayed for a family wedding at the Sheraton which was a 3 minute walk on a paved path. Worked out great. Gorgeous tree off the balcony. It IS a second floor walk up just FYI but not an issue for us.

Perfectly Wonderful
We enjoyed the most wonderful stay at this perfect condo at Kiahuna Beach! It exceeded our expectations. Beautiful open and airy with lovely cross breezes, gorgeous views from the lanai, spotlessly clean, fully stocked kitchen, we can’t say enough good things! We enjoyed listening to the surf and birds from the master bedroom in the early mornings, and the beach is a very short lovely walk through the spectacular gardens. Poipu Athletic Club was terrific. Our kids and my husband and I loved the gym, pool, tennis courts and everything else they had to offer. Kiahuna Beach is postcard pretty and is perfect for families. I especially enjoyed the paved walkways along the beach through the various resorts. Coffee shops, restaurants and shopping are just a short walk across the road. Our hosts, Volker and Gina were so helpful, friendly, generous and had terrific advice. We were so lucky to have stayed in their home away from home on beautiful Kaua’i and are already dreaming about our next visit and hope we can stay here again!

Terrific Stay at Volker and Gina's Condo
From start to finish we had a wonderful week at the Kiahuna Plantation Resort at Volker and Gina's condo! Volker was so easy to work with and answered all our questions and more during the booking process and right through our check-in. He gave us many great tips about restaurants and places to shop for food. The condo was clean, tidy and easy check-in and check-out process. The whole family slept great every night on the comfortable beds. The condo had everything we needed for a wonderful time and we can't wait to return! Perfect location!
Lots of pluses for this property; it's roomy, comfortable and has lots of cross breezes. Fully equipped kitchen. The mature plantation gardens are beautiful and shady. There's a beach literally about a 3 minute walk away, or a very short drive (3 minutes) to the popular Poipu beach for sheltered swimming and snorkelling. Great location for getting to many adventures! Volker was super responsive to our questions and a great communicator.

The condo was very clean and comfortable, no A/C but fans in every room. Easy to communicate with the owner, Volker, who had many helpful tips and suggestions. The grounds were beautiful and it's an easy walk to beaches. We had delicious meals at Kenji Burger in Koloa Old Town and Keoki's Paradise in Poipu. Big Save Market in Koloa had fresh produce. We had a wonderful time!

Wonderful stay at Kiahuna
We had a great experience renting Volker and Gina’s home in Kiahuna Plantation. The unit has plenty of space for a family - a living room, kitchen, and balcony upstairs; then two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a patio downstairs. We loved staying at Kiahuna right near the beach and having access to the athletic club. Volker and Gina were very responsive, and we greatly enjoyed our stay!

Great complex

Aloha Orville, we spent 3 weeks at our condo from April 26 - May 17, 2002. During this time it didn't rain. When we left Kauai on May 17, it rained a little bit in the morning. Sorry to hear that you had 3 rainy days from May 18 - 21, 2022. However, as you mentioned, at the south side of Kauai where our condo is located, there are many fun things you can do even if it rains. Since Kauai is a tropical island, rain is an essential part to keep the island green. We live in Southern California and wish we would have more rain. Three continuous days of rain would be a blessing for us. Of course, on your vacation, you don't want rainy weather. Orville, I hope you and your party still enjoyed spending time at our 2nd. home at the Kiahuna Plantation. Perfect Vacation Home
We could not have been more pleased with our stay in this condo. It had everything we needed, and was conveniently located for visiting all the must-see sights on Kauai. The condo was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Kiahuna Plantation has a beach just a 2 minutes walk away, and also has a gorgeous tropical garden. Volker and Gina were wonderful to deal with, as they gave us clear instructions about the condo and terrific tips on where to dine. They even surprised us with a dining gift card at a great local restaurant, which we really enjoyed. You will not be disappointed if you book this condo.

Kauai paradise
This is by far the best place to stay on Kauai. Steps from the beach and conveniently located next to local shops. I love that all the amenities are included. Our family enjoyed the Poipu Athletic club pool and gym Mr. Bauerle was so helpful and quick to respond to all questions. He really wanted us to have a great stay at his Kiahuna Plantation condo.

Great stay near Poipu Beach!
We absolutely loved this area and the property is beautiful and well maintained. Easy access to the beach and great option to enjoy the athletic club and pool across the street. The owners were so helpful and gave us many great tips. My only very minor comment is a lack of air conditioning in the unit. Breezes are (mostly) plentiful but it does get warm in the downstairs bedrooms. It didn’t detract from the experience at all but something that I noticed. All in all a great stay and would not hesitate to book again!

In the heart of paradise
We had a great stay at this gorgeous ocean front complex. The condo itself was as true to the listing description. No frills but a comfortable stay and a good value compared to other condo’s listed in the same complex. The owners are very nice and even provided a gift card to the fun restaurant across the street. Very nice owners.

The place is great, very clean and ideal place next to beaches that are kid friendly. The place is very spacious with a big tv and Netflix/cable. The owners are so awesome. Perfect Location!
Volker was great about offering food and restaurant suggestions. Condo was clean, spacious and beds were very comfortable! The only thing we wished it had were beach chairs as we enjoy sitting on the beach! We were pretty much on the go from sun up to sun down! Lots to see and do in a short period of time! However, here is my answer about your quote: "The only thing we wished it had were beach chairs as we enjoy sitting on the beach!" That's too bad because there are plenty of beach chairs for all guests. Denise, it looks like you forgot that on page 3 in our Short Term Rental Agreement (STRA) we sent you, it states under #6: "Beach towels and chairs are FREE for our guests and available at the Beach Hut right at Poipu Beach. Upon check-in, the clerk at Castle Management will provide one Towel Card for each guest to be presented to the attendant at the Beach Hut. Upon return of the used towel, each guest gets their Towel Card back for future use. Please return all Towel Cards to Castle Management upon departure." So--next time you visit our condo, you realize that the beach chairs are free for all of our guests. There are also lounges, which you can use as well, if available. Can’t wait to come back!
This property and this area of the island were just what we were looking for - unfussy, but plenty of amenities. Host was so helpful and the onsite staff were great! Loved the nearby swimming areas and close coffee shops and markets.

Great Stay

Nice place!
This condo was a great place for our family to stay in Poipu. We loved the location, but in all honesty would probably not go back in August (which is on us!) as it was really hot without air conditioning despite several fans in the unit. All the locals told us it was unusually hot for August and that the trade winds were not as strong as they normally are which led us all to be sweating by 9am most days. Being from Texas, we were used to the heat but also used to our beloved air conditioning too! Luckily we were out adventuring and seeing this beautiful island or at the beach most of the time. The condo was clean but came with no basics (spices, sponges, etc,) in the kitchen which the owner had warned us about. The closet downstairs is stashed with surfboard, boogie boards, umbrella and anything you need for a day at the beach. Speaking of the owners, Volker and Gina are extremely welcoming, sending us several helpful emails prior to our visit with information on everything from rental cars, directions, where to shop for groceries, restaurants, etc. Very nice people who exemplify the Aloha Spirit! We definitely recommend renting this unit, just be mindful about going during the hotter months.

Paradise!
We had an amazing stay in Volker and Gina's second home. The condo was clean, had plenty of space, and was in a great location. Additionally, they had everything you could possibly need for a beach day (chairs, umbrellas, beach mats, boogie boards, ect). I would recommend this condo to anyone who is planning a trip to Kauai, we felt at home the entire time and had nothing but a positive experience. We cannot thank Volker and Gina enough for their hospitality, tips upon arrival to the island, and for doing everything they possibly could to insure we had a great trip. Mahalo for everything. We will be back soon!

A great place for a family vacation.
The unit was light and very comfortable. We had some quite hot weather, but most of the time the unit stayed pretty comfortable. The only negative was The occasional loud cars late at night. Saying that we would definitely rent it again.

A Great Place to Stay!!
This was a great place to stay with our family of 2 adults and 4 children!! Everything was clean and comfortable. Volker and Gina were great hosts from start to finish! We enjoyed our time at the pool, which was AMAZING with a water slide, waterfall cave, and sandy kids pool. There was also a bar serving food & drinks which we appreciated. Kiahuna Beach is a short stroll through beautiful gardens and open lawns, and we had a good time boogie boarding and body surfing there. (The condo came stocked with boards and beach mats.) The waves were a little rough one day while we were there, but we also visited some other nearby protected "baby" beaches, all of which were a short drive away. Across the street was a shopping center with shops and restaurants that you can walk to, including Keoki's Paradise where we had a very nice dinner. Just down the street was another shopping center with Longs Drugs, many clothing stores, and a Lappert's Ice Cream (which we had to try). For those that want to prepare food at the condo to save money, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need, and community BBQ grills are located just a short walk out the back slider. We chose to grill hamburgers and chicken during our stay purchased from Costco near the airport. After we booked our stay, Volker provided lots of tips on places to try and ways to save money while visiting Kauai. This is helpful for those that are visiting for the first time. In summary, this condo is a great value with an outstanding location!! I would recommend it to anybody staying in the Poipu Beach area!

A fantastic location!
Our family had such a great time and the accomodations were amazing! Close the the beach, close to amenities, and the owner made sure we had all the local tips on where to go and how to save money!!

Lovely
This was our first time to Kauai and it is definitely now our favorite island. The condo was perfect for our family of 5. The short walk to the beach or to poipu Village was convenient. Our kids loved searching for geckos outside the condo. It was quiet and private even during spring break time. We’d love to stay here again in the future.
