"We stayed for three nights in Snowy Lodge. Check in was easy, your keys are left in an envelope in the small reception, theres a map on the wall to tell you where to go. Take note with regards to check in and check out. Hotels.com states check in at 5 o'clock when its actually between 4 and 5 and check out at 9 when its actually 9:30 to 10. "It is a comfortable hotel with a slightly old fashioned feel, but it is a historic building and the staff are cheerful and helpful. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable and I appreciated the heavy curtains to cut out the sunlight. The stairs to the second floor were a bit tricky for an older guest when carrying luggage, although staff would have helped. I would certainly return."

"Second time staying there, lovely old place. Bar well stocked, dinner and breakfast excellent. Given single room at top of hotel - stonking hot but supplied with fan which helped. Bathtub comfortable but needs a grab rail on the wall for those of us less abled to help us climb out. Otherwise can’t fault it!"

"This place is amazing !! One of the most welcoming and friendly places I have ever stayed in across the entire UK. The oweners and staff are the most naturally friendly people I have ever encountered in the hospitality trade. The place is so well run, from the booking to the check in to the bar, the food and the wonderful accommodation. We had 2 ground floor rooms and stayed for 5 night, the beds were king size and so comfortable, none of this putting 2 beds together. Proper king-size beds, the rooms were large, clean and so comfortable. The shower was great and so easy to use, one press of a button. My companion needed to work one day and the WiFi was excellent. But really it was the calibre of staff and owners that made the place shine !! It really did feel like home, without being over bearing. Also it is excellent value for money. I would return in a heartbeat and will certainly book there again if ever we return to the region. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.Keep up the good work !!!"
