My family of 4 just stayed at the Dairy Cottage for 8 days, and loved it. Both Sheila and Mike were able to welcome us at the property and gave us a detailed run-down of where everything was and how appliances/etc worked. Sheila also had milk, juice, and a fresh loaf of bread waiting for us!
The Cottage was very clean with a solidly equipped kitchen - we usually cook at home when vacationing and I had everything I needed. The view from said kitchen cannot be beat, and I already miss it. The rolling hills, water in the distance, and impossibly green fields are all amazing. We had a few questions while at the Cottage, and Sheila was very friendly and very responsive.
We have a 1.5 year old and a 4.5 year old and this trip was perfect for them. The cottage came equipped with a cot and highchair for the little one, and plenty of room to run in the yard to get her energy out. We all got to tour the farm, and our 4.5 year old is in love with it. Mike (and his helper, also Mike) were extremely patient, and went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and involved, and to answer all of his (and our!) questions. This time of year there were plenty of calves to see, cows being milked, and in the distance grass being cut and bailed by tractors – a kid’s dream!
The location is peaceful and quiet, but also a very good for seeing the tourist sites too. From there we were able to see the Cliffs of Moher, at least three large castles, and the Jameson distillery down in Middleton, Cork. Locally we were able to walk near the lake, see Nenagh center, eat out at a local restaurant, and shop for some wools at the John Hanly factory store. There are certainly more sites within easy distance, but we ran out of time to see them all. The Cottage is also just quick drive to multiple grocery stores and shops for anything you may need.
All in all, the place is great, and we wouldn’t hesitate to send friends and family there. Thank you to Sheila, Mike and their little man for the stay!
