The property is awesome, but the beach access is non existent... should have been included in the description of the property online. When Asked company very cold and gruff, and told to walk till we found something...
Stay was fun. Only issue is outside seating. Most of the chairs were unusable due to ripped fabrics, rusted backing, and plastic furniture was cracked and broken. Some of the furniture can harm, cut, scratch, even break while in use. New furniture would make property excellent. I have pictures if interested.
The location to the beach is good. But the day we came ( June 14-21) the house was definitely older and needs to be updated. We pulled dirty dishes out of the cabinets! Kitchen was obviously not maintained well ( not enough pots/pans mismatched pieces, 1 dish towel and 1 pot holder, refrigerator was gross and inside door brackets missing) . The windows were filthy couldn’t see through some! Doors and shower doors were impossible to move! I contacted reality company about the grill not working and NEVER got back to me! Toilet was running and never filled( which I contacted too and emailed me back saying they would put a work order in and never came! Outside we found glass on the pool deck( which could have been serious) and garbage around the pool deck! We found old dried up pasta on walls! Left the vacuum and swifter out in plain view! For the money I paid this is unacceptable! Please leave instructions on how to use the TV’s ( literally 5 remotes for every tv). Master bedroom has mold on carpeting! Kitchen table was scratched so bad! Most of the plastic chairs are broken and couldn’t be sat on. In my opinion, don’t rent this house! All carpeting has bad stains on them. I definitely should be reimbursed!

Lost my OBX joy
I have been coming to the outer banks since I was a child. I have never stayed in Duck however. I would never stay here again. There is absolutely no beach access unless you drive 15 minutes in traffic. There is no bay access unless you drive as well. The house itself was very dirty. There were no useful pots or pans to cook properly they all stuck terribly. There was dirt and mold on all the walls. The top master sweet had mold by the outside door which was coming apart. The house clearly is not maintained properly or EVER cleaned properly. There were food particles all over the kitchen floor when we walked in. The pool table was an utter disappointment. All the friends and family that came all play league pool and were looking forward to being able to play all week. The table was in terrible condition and the felt wrinkled and torn in a few small spots. There were dirty diapers left on the back deck when we got there. There is no access to the top deck from outside which was really inconvenient. The pool and hot tub were good size at least. The volleyball court was nice although not regulation size. All the balls, floats ect that were at the house were in terribly damaged condition thankfully we brought our own. We did forget our brand new basketball there so the next renters will at least have that. Overall I would NEVER rebook this house and NEVER recommend booking it to anyone!
we did not have working air conditioning on the lower 2 floors of the house (where all but one of the bedrooms are) until monday night and into tuesday morning. the bedroom floors were over 80 degrees while we were trying to put babies down for naps and sleeping through the night. when we pulled up to the house, there was an hvac repair man there so they had already known there was no ac and could have preemptively made different accommodations for us. the lack of internet was also a major problem - all of the baby monitors rely on having internet ... i've never had a house down here without internet - not even through a hurricane also the internet was not out because of an outage, it was out because a piece of equipment was broken by previous guests. the house was also absolutely disgusting when we arrived - it looked like it had not been vacuumed, multiple bedrooms didnt have towels, hand towels, etc. the outside of the house is covered in insects - all windows and most of the sliding doors look like they have not even been wiped or swept in many weeks. there were even 2 trash bags left near the pool area completely full of trash, food, maggots coming out of them. there were huge stains in the carpets in multiple rooms, black mold in one room upstairs. i would have assumed covid cleaning would include at least wiping return air grilles which are very dirty.... again i've never even seen this level of filth even remotely renting houses down here. multiple pieces of furniture are broken - i would have expected them to just be taken away instead of left at the house. we also called 3 or 4 weeks in advance of our trip to make sure we could bring a service animal for my wife. when we were in conversation about the rest of the issues with the house with the property manager, she said that she found out we had a dog on the property which was a breach of the property contract. i informed her that we gave them advance notice that a service animal was going to be on the property and my wife also let her know that she was breaching the point of legality in her demands for the dog since she was requesting the dogs identification and threatening to remove the dog from the property - way out of bounds in our opinion and per the ADA service dog federal regulations. i personally think a full refund would have beenhe most fair outcome
