Lovely stay in small but perfectly formed hut
We really enjoyed this property. For a cozy space it’s very well equipped and is so well designed it felt spacious. It was so peaceful we loved waking up next to the sheep and enjoying morning coffee outside with views of the lake. Our host was very helpful with showing us a short cut through his property to start a walk. Check in and out very easy. Would stay again.

Wonderful stay
We really enjoyed our stay at the Shepherds hut. A fantastic location, so peaceful and beautiful. Watching the sun set over the water each evening was fantastic. The shepherds hut was really clean and had everything we needed and the bed was very comfy. We would love to come back again!

We'd just had a couple of days in Manchester and I wanted the exact opposite experience and this delivered. Totally peaceful and isolated. The only noise was sheep, birdsong and a river or stream in the distance. The hut was clean with a fridge, wifi, microwave and hob but most importantly a teapot! Highly recommended.

So happy with the hut where we stayed for 2 nights! The location is just magical! Super romantic place and it offers everything you need! Matt was super accommodating, provided everything we asked for (we needed some kindle for fire) and kept the communication going at all times. The hut is small but so practical and cute and clean and modern! Perfect for a couple! You are surrounded by sheep which I loved and you have the perfect sunrise and sunset views! Close to Derwent water and CatBells walk! Thanks so much, Matt! And I would love to return!

Beautiful little cabin!
Stayed here for 2 nights while in the Lakes, absolutely stunning views and location while just a short drive to Keswick. The cabin is clean and well presented and Matt, the host is welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended watching the unset from here on an evening and then watching the Lambs bounce around the field in the morning. We will most likely be back.

Wonderful!
Just what we wanted. The location -- a Lakeland sheep farm -- is beautiful and quiet, completely away from it all. Stunning views over the valley. The shepherd's hut was just as you see it in the photos: for our requirements it was well appointed and had everything we needed. The farmer, Matt, was really nice and helpful but also left us to ourselves. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

We were lucky to spend the bank holiday weekend in this little gem of a find - amazing views down to bassenwaithe, so quiet and peaceful - and the hut was so lovely. Would absolutely recommend and will be back!

Cosy little pod with stunning views
This property was all that we expected. Clean, beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we could need. And on top of that the stunning setting. Just a short drive to lots of beautiful walks and Keswick town centre. We will be back.

Our gorgeous shepherds hut was in the hills with magnificent views of Bassenthwaite Lake. Words cannot describe how breath taking this place on earth is! Our hut was in the middle of fields with sheep and new born lambs, so lovely to see them all frolicking! The hut was brilliantly kitted out, like a hotel room, all the amenities you need! It was clean and cosy and the bed was really comfy. There was a picnic table outside so you can take in all the views and chill out after a day of exploring the area. If you want seclusion and relaxation, this is the place to stay!

Gorgeous location!
We had a great stay in Croft Head, the views are amazing, and it was lovely to see the lambs every morning! The hut had everything we needed for our short stay and we probably would have used the fire pit on an evening if the weather had been kinder.

Amazing value. View is to die for. Very comfy bed, outside was beautiful, but it was too cold to sit out lol. Didn't know there was no oven, but didn't effect stay. Matt was lovely! Can't wait to stay again.

Shepherd's hut with spectacular views.
Idyllic spot overlooking Bassenthwaite lake. The shepherd's hut is small but perfectly formed with all mod cons. A great location to explore the Western lakes from. A short drive for a dip in the lake, with local pub within a mile's walk. Mathew is a great host, nothing was too much trouble.

A beautiful and unique stay in a first class shepherd's hut
This shepherd's hut is a delightful place to stay. Every detail was perfect and everything that you could possibly need was available inside the hut. The view to the lake was delightful with a bench outside to sit on and relax. Good facilities, hot water, heaters if you need them, and a very comfortable bed. Really enjoyed my stay, thank you!

Lovely location, cosy, neat and tidy hut surrounding by sheep with AMAZING views and dog friendly - what more could you want! There’s helpful walking guides in the hut and Matt supplied us with a wood fire lighting kit for the fire pit when we arrived. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

Awesome Shepherd Hut
A wonderful stay in the most beautiful Shepherd Hut. With spectaculer views. The hut was so clean and tidt with all the right features. We would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing base for the lakes.

Had a great time at croft head. Beautiful and fantastic views, peaceful and relaxing 2 days away. Our dog enjoyed it also. Lovely walks not a far distant from the hut. Owners were in hand if we needed something. Clean property on arrival. Would definitely stay again. 100 out of 100

I always wanted to stay in a Shepherds Hut and Croft Head was an amazing experience. Lovely, peaceful surroundings, clean with lots of hot water and dog friendly. Matthew was an excellent host. The only drawback was that Keswick was a little further away than I would have liked, but good roads and easy to find way around area. Highly recommend!

The perfect break away from it all
This was the perfect break away from ‘normal’ life. Experiencing a working farm with the luxury of sheep and cattle grazing right outside the shepherd’s hut was so relaxing. The local walks and views were absolutely stunning.

Don’t really know how to explain? But try I will Imagine your half way through a great hike / walk and you take your flasks out to enjoy the view’s? Well that’s it you don’t move on it’s your home amazing views great shepherds hut with all the facilities you need shower toilet hob microwave, fire pit outside and Matt the farmer is such a pleasant fella he also does a fire pit package for £10 it’s a great experience to end your day will definitely be back !!!! Incredible location and thoughtful host
Although quite small the property is laid out and presented very well, the kitchen and bathroom particularly. Having a fire pit meant we ate all of our meals outside whilst taking in the view. Would recommend to anyone, but especially people who are a little more inclined to staying in secluded locations and don’t mind the tighter space. Thanks Matt!

We had an excellent time staying at the Shepards Hut. The views are unreal and the cabin is equipped with everything you need and is very cosy. We felt safe being up on the hills with the sheep and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The log fire was a great touch and Matt was an excellent host. We purchased a log fire package and he included marshmallows! Lovely touch. We would definitely recommend a stay here if you want to get away from all the chaos of every day life. Couldn't rate it higher.
