The property was perfect for our needs having visited Lourdas a number of times, we know the area well. So close to the beach and local bars and tavernas. The property is very tastefully furnished and extremely clean. Towels changed daily, bins emptied daily and bedding once during our weeks stay. Would definitely, without hesitation, stay here again.

In our opinion, property and services are really excellent. As a general suggestion about surrounding could be that to move cars and trucks access behind the different properties and use the present way, on the beach side, only for walking

An excellent property we very much enjoyed our stay. Lourdata is a lovely place to be very laid back not over commercialised. Nice restaurants and bars everything we needed for a relaxing week. Hemingways Bar at the end of the driveway was very friendly and convenient for breakfast dinner,tea and cocktails. The apartment was comfortable and very clean, the kitchen was nice to have for a fridge, freezer and kettle. Only negatives were the shower head being completely blocked with limescale and held up by a tie wrap and a safe that didn’t work. Otherwise perfect

The perfect beach location in beautiful Lourdas

We absolutely loved our stay at Barefoot Contessa, waking up to the most beautiful view of the sea and mountains and listening to the waves of the sea it was truly perfect. We had everything we needed in the apartment apart from a toaster, but we didn’t miss it. You’re moments away from a beautiful beach and a few tavernas and little bars. There are more up the hill which is a bit of a trek but having a car allowed us to explore everywhere much more easily. The only negatives we had were on arrival the shower had hairs still in it but as it was very late we didn’t get this rectified as we both wanted to shower before bed, it didn’t look like it had been cleaned very well. Towels are changed daily which is great but quite a few of the towels were frayed/stained. The only thing we think that would also need improving cleaning wise is having the apartment floor mopped half way during the week as it did get dirty when staying for the week. Other than those small negatives everything else was perfect and we would most definitely come and stay again. This was our first time in Kefalonia but won’t be our last!

stayed here for 10 days in late august. nice modern and clean apartment with regular cleaning and friendly staff. there is a great beachside bar called Hemmingway's too, which had the best food with great portions along the beach front in Lourdas.

Great place to stay for pure holiday vibes

This is an excellent place to stay, the people who run it and the bar/restaurant nearby are friendly and super accommodating- even waiting for me to arrive for check in after my flight was delayed. The place itself is big and clean and comfortable. The best thing about it for me was the fact that the beach with cheap say beds was 2 mins from the room, it really helped ease us into holiday mode as soon as we got there. The food in the area was great as well. It was a really wonderful stay

Great spot. Handy having the bar/taverna right in front. Host empties the trash and brings fresh towels daily. Only disappointment was that the sun beds shown in the photos are not included with the room rate. Beds in the room left us with a bit of a back ache as well.

We had a beautiful sea view on our balcony where we would enjoy a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. The beach was beautiful with a gradual slope. It has small washed rock until you are a few feet in the water and then there is a sandy bottom.The staff was very friendly and accomodating. I highly recommend the Barefoot Contessa

I stayed at Barefoot Contessa in mid-June 2025. I was holidaying as a solo traveller which I have only done a few times before and so was very anxious leading up to the trip. I needn’t have worried as I had an amazing week. The resort/village and apartments were both fantastic and the staff at Barefoot Contessa/Hemingways were always really friendly and helpful: Dimitra, Olga and Spiros and co. The apartment was really lovely and clean. Comfortable and nicely furnished. Good shower and bathroom. It has everything you would need including a small oven/grill and two rings - although I didn’t actually cook as there are a small number of good restaurants very near by including Hemingways bay-restaurant just a few seconds walk away. The apartment is literally a stone’s throw from a really beautiful beach - mainly sandy with crystal clear waters and backed by the most beautiful mountainous scenery. It is literally 2 mins walk from the apartment - possibly less! The village itself is beautiful and was not at all crowded. It suits anyone looking for a quiet, scenic and relaxing break from daily life. I would thoroughly recommend Barefoot Contessa.

Nothing too relaxing very bad experience. If you choose that apartment in Lourdas you will get a minimum of equipment, bar very expensive and redness from owners. We ordered Greek salad but they give us without oil and olive no taste only veg Shame on you. The first time we have something like this. I do not know maybe you have a problem with people like us. The beach is beautiful and the seawater is amazing and the view is unforgettable with the mountain in the back of your place but you can get better accodomnetion in Lourdas than this. For the sunbed, you pay € 8 per day if you use it. Other than accommodation have or for free. Only one toaster for the whole 10 rooms??? Glass limits available. One little square kitchen towel to clean your dishes?? Most important the Air conditioning old fashion very old-fashioned and if you use makes horrible noise! the kitchen area yes has its windows but it's very warm, the owner should think about it. No that's enough. We could give more, that it's our opinion. We will be back with no option but no barefoot contessa We get information from different accordaminations and we notice the better place for that money. We travel a lot and we can compare, it poorly. Internet rubbish:(

Abbiamo soggiornato per 9 notti. Luogo incantevole, silenzioso, appartamento esattamente come descritto dalle foto, pulito, munito di tutto il necessario. Parcheggio ombreggiato in loco. Impagabile essere di fronte al mare, a pochi passi, con terrazzino da cui godere tramonti e spledida luna sul mare. Uniche note negative che consiglierei di migliorare sono: armadio a vista con troppo poco spazio per riporre vestiti per 3 persone, lavabo nel bagno davvero piccolo per lavarsi ed il condizionatore troppo rumoroso, anche se non ne abbiamo avuto particolarmente bisogno essendo capitati in giornate abbastanza ventilate. Consiglierei di cambiarlo.

Percect beach front property

Property was in a brilliant location and condition and the facilities were excellent, very comfy beds and great view of the sea and the sounds of the waves on the shore. Only negatives was very strong green light from the emergency exit sign above the door in the bedroom, no hot water for 15 hours at one point at the end of the week and very intermittent weak WiFi which at tines was frustrating.

Re: Relaxing stay on quiet beach

Beautiful beachside apartments just a stones throw from the sea at a quiet end of Lourdas beach. Had a very relaxing 8 days here, apartment clean and spacious, good kitchen with all the applicances you need. Get the sea view apartment, spent many evenings have a drink and watching the waves. Lots of restaurants nearby, relatively cheap and good simple food and only a short drive from Angostoli.

Real beachfront apartments

This accommodation definitely ticked all the boxes for our stay in Lourdas. The apartment we stayed in is the one advertised in the promotion and the view is outstanding. There are numerous restaurants close by and if you wish to venture further car rentals are easy to obtain as the island has a host of places to visit. We used the pre-booked taxi service to and from the airport and would recommend that also. All round service at the apartments was first class from everyone. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone.
