I never leave reviews but I feel it is important for travelers to know what a wonderful hotel this is. Let me start by saying that the entire staff are among some of the kindest and genuine people I have come across in a long time. They themselves get 5 stars. The rooms are fantastic and the beds are super comfy. The hotel is also amazingly quiet. I couldn’t believe I was in Kathmandu! Its is beautifully decorated with thoughtful flowers and landscaping. It’s a true gem in beautiful Bodha and is now my new home away from home. I really love this place and can’t wait to return.

Shambaling is a little oasis in Katmandu. It's intimate setting fosters a gentle stillness and staff could not be more accommodating. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the newly opened spa offers wonderful treatments for weary, sore trekking muscles. I will tell all my travelling friends about this "must stay at "- gem.

I have had the pleasure of staying at Shambaling Boutique Hotel many times, and each visit solidifies my decision to return. This hotel consistently delivers a first-class experience in care and hospitality, they truly know how to treat their guests well. The restaurant at Shambaling offers a fantastic variety of tasty options. While everything I've tried has been delicious, my personal favorites are the incredible Chicken Chilli and the satisfying Himalayan Mutton Thali . The dining experience here is definitely a highlight. The rooms are a generous size, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. A standout feature, which any frequent traveler in Nepal will appreciate, is the reliable infrastructure: 24-hour electricity and hot water are always available. This consistent convenience is a real game-changer. As someone who travels extensively and has significant experience with accommodations across Nepal, I can highly, highly recommend Shambaling Boutique Hotel. If you are looking for comfortable, convenient, and truly exceptional accommodation in the Boudha area, look no further. You will be very well taken care of here!

Both the hotel and the room were beautiful - tucked away so it was quiet but easy access to the Stupa area. The staff were very nice, the breakfast menu was okay but since there were limited vegetable options they prepared something specially for us which was excellent. We stayed in a different hotel in the Tamil area on our first night and the price wasn't all that different - there was no comparison in terms of the quality and vibe of the hotel - this was on such a higher level

It was an excellent hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Ambience within the hotel is fantastic. I also loved the fact that it was so close to the Boudhanath stupa.

Great hotel

Far from Thamel, but if you want to escape the tourist and noise then it is ideal. Spacious clean rooms make for a comfortable stay. You will sleep very well in the bed. Staff are great!

Charming Garden Hideaway

What can we say, everything was great. Our stay was fabulous with the important things to us being; the service was attentive to us as guests, the restaurant food was of great quality for Nepal and the staff made us feel very warm and welcoming - nothing was a problem, the deluxe rooms were spacious with garden views which was a nice retreat for us after being on a 3 week trek of the Himalayas. For us we enjoyed having our own space at the Cabvebar to have a drink and read a book each evening. The hotel price point was spot on. Overall the hotel was clean and we could not fault the service, even after we checked out and had to wait until 8pm for our flight, we were treated as guests all the way until we departed for the airport. Our appreciation was shown by the tip we gave on departure and we sincerely hope this is shared amongst all the team at the hotel. You can be sure we will recomend this hotel to fellow travellors! Thank you for being a part of our traveling memories!!

Zen Hotel In Kathmandu

Amazing hotel! Location isn’t the best if you are looking for more of a tourist area, as it’s fairly far from the tourist area but closer to the airport. Could hear the drums from Boudhanath in the morning and evening. Amazing service and owner is on site. WiFi signal was not very strong on the 4th floor unfortunately. Great restaurant on site and massages available in room which was a great service! They even let me stay in the room for a very late check out before my flight back home.
