I had heard so much about the Elms over the years that I had to come here for our anniversary. We enjoyed the historic aspect of the hotel and amenities. The rooms and general area around the hotel are clean and in good condition. The lap pool is currently closed due to a storm that created a leak. I was disappointed in this fact, but after seeing the actual lap pool, I pictured it differently, maybe a bit nicer.
Although the room was okay, it was a bit small, and the bathroom was particularly small. The shower was tiny and the area around its base was very oxidized and could benefit from an update.
The only issue I had with the hotel was the extra charges, such as a "destination fee," when the hotel in general is benefiting from people visiting it. There isn't any reason to charge anyone for a destination fee. Also, they charge for parking!
