For many years, it had been our dream to experience an extended visit in southern Germany, somewhere in or near the Black Forest. Included with that dream was the idea that we would find one location in which we could stay: an authentic German town, a place where we could improve our limited facility with the German language, and a place from which we could make day trips into the Black Forest and neighbouring regions in France and Switzerland. In addition, we wanted to find a residence in which we would be comfortable – which we could truly call home – for the duration of our stay. We often wondered if it would even be possible to find such a place.
Well, we certainly did find it! This wonderful guest home not only met our lofty expectations, but it exceeded them in every way! Spacious, bright, immaculately clean, perfectly located, quiet, and with all the conveniences of home, this truly was a home-away-from-home for us, a place to which we could come and relax after days of travelling about the region. We are most grateful to our hosts, Heinz & Rita Haffner, for helping us create nothing but positive memories of our stay in Kandern.
