This was the Murphy’s Law of hotel stays. If something could go wrong, it did. Starting with the positive - the hotel is a fairly new building, the area around it is fine, and the staff were all friendly and tried to correct issues they didn’t create. Now for the rest: we arrived for our reservation around 10 pm to find the hotel was overbooked, so they could only offer a room with a king bed, pull out couch and no TV. We accepted because this was not really a big deal. When we got to the room, the bed had been slept in and there were wet towels covered in body hair in the shower. There were no linens for the pullout. At first the front desk assured us the room had been cleaned, but agreed to clean it when we told them about the hairy wet washcloth in the shower. While we waited in the lobby, we discovered the 24-hour coffee service was empty and the lobby bathroom toilet was leaking with a puddle on the floor and wouldn’t flush. When we got to our freshly cleaned room around 11 pm, there were only sheets for the pullout and we had to get blankets from the car for our kids. Then, overnight, the toilet clogged and became unusable. When we went to shower the next morning, we had 3 towels for 4 people. Breakfast was not great either; they were out of hot food by 9:15, out of regular coffee, out of milk for cereal, and the pancake machine was broken. The whole stay was one thing after another. Staff were apologetic and did their best, but we wouldn’t stay here again.

The entrance from Main Street was not marked with any signs and NO lights. It was confusing because my GPS took me to Holiday Inn but I had a reservation at Holiday Inn Express. From the parking lot, we didn't see the Express sign but the staff person politely told us to check over the Express hotel.

Nearby to Kalamazoo. The breakfast is decent, the bed is comfortable and the room is quiet. If you want frills, stay somewhere else. If you want a nice place to sleep, here you go.

We had to ask for towels and for some reason the one we had was damp. The pool is a bit small and breakfast was lacking. The water, orange juice etc was broken. Overall comfortable and and ok stay.

The floor of the room was not cleaned, so it was full of crisps. The refrigerator was broken, so I had to store food separately. The service was not good either.

Hotel was clean; room was nice. It's easy to get to right off the highway. Bed was very, very firm. Tip: if you are getting the breakfast, go early! They don't really replace the empties and restock it in the last hour. That was a little disappointing for a Sunday morning at about 9:00 am, but we were only staying one night. Everything else was above average and I would recommend it.

Hotel was really nice, great showers but tub a little slippery. I would give it a 5 star rating except the breakfast was awful. When we got to breakfast most of the food was out and took awhile before it was replenished. The garbage was overflowing and coffee spill not cleaned up. I think it may be because understaffed , if they get that figured out then I would highly recommend.

Noise issue unresolved!!!
We had a party of kids above us until 1:30 despite talking to them and the staff much earlier in the evening. I do not recommend this hotel if you want to ensure a good nights sleep. It feels like rolling the die.

I appreciated that the location was near a main highway and a large shopping mall. Plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Comfortable bed, great comforter. I liked the breakfast option on the main floor - plenty of food options and nice seating. Friendly staff. I was very pleased with my stay at Holiday Inn Express at Kalamazoo.
