「Property was beautiful. Better than expected. Right in the heart of Salem, so centrally located you’re surrounded by shops, restaurants, and historic buildings and museums.
The hotel itself is amazing. Clean, well decorated, comfortable/cozy. We were in room 7 which is way up stairs but the stairs were fine- no elevator on site. There were fresh yogurts, and other snacks in the fridge which was in the little kitchenette area outside our room. View was of the street and front yard which was...
「The Cabot Lodge is a quaint, adorable, wonderful place to stay! The room itself is tiny but the bathroom is spacious. The room has everything you need, including a sound machine! There are complimentary snacks and coffee, and the bed is very comfortable. The town itself is historic and has some very cool shops. Would absolutely stay here again!」
「We loved staying in a house built in the 1600s! It was like getting to sleep in a museum rather than a hotel.
Also - the Continental Breakfast was more than we expected! Beyond a few kinds of breakfast bread and a toaster, there was also whipped cream cheese, hard-boiled eggs, and a couple types of fresh fruit. We were very pleased.
There were only a couple drawbacks (which would NOT keep me from recommending the experience):

「Run by the kindest people (and friendliest cats!) in all of Salem, and could not possibly be more centrally located! You can walk everywhere from here, and you have a front row seat to any events in the square - it's literally right across the street. Parking in Salem is at a premium, and we are driving a crew cab truck to make it even worse, but Matt went WELL above and beyond to make sure we got a great spot.
