We had a wonderful time, wish we could have stayed another day. Belva is a great host, and we enjoyed visiting with her. The gardens are wonderful and there is a surprise around every corner. At night there are more surprises, but I wont reveal them here. Thanks to Belva for the memories.

Wonderul experience
I really enjoyed the time at Tizer Gardens. It was great to be able to stay in the cabin on site. It was like camping without all the hard work. Very cozy and such a beautiful place to spend some peaceful and quiet time. Super friendly atmosphere.

The cabin and property are beautiful! We were very comfortable and cozy, and thoroughly enjoyed the babbling stream just out our door. Everything we needed was available, and if you just have to have a shower I recommended stopping at one of the hot springs nearby.

Magical Evening in the Garden!
We just loved staying here for the night with our small children (1&3). We were prepped for modest accommodations and Belva helped us with a cot to make extra room. We had a fire, made s’mores and a few great memories of the kiddos skipping through the trails on the property and playing in the fairy garden all evening and morning. The lights and night with the sound of the creek gurgling will transport you to a magical place. Thanks for sharing!

Grateful to have visited this oasis!
Being from Helena, ever since my first time at the gardens, I have wanted to stay at the magic cabin onsite. Upon hearing that the property is for sale, I knew the time had come *in hopes the new owners maintain the heartfelt character that Belva and her husband created here!* From the instant we stepped on site we felt grounded. It was a beautiful evening including a picnic at the gazebo, enjoying the sound of creek by the firepit, admiring the fairylights and snuggling in the very comfortable bed during a rainstorm. Morning came to soon. Would've loved to have more time, but grateful to have had any. Stay here is you get the chance!

Gorgeous Property
We loved our stay at the Tizer Gardens cabins. It’s so peaceful there with the creek running through, bridges and paths throughout the beautiful flower gardens! Belva is a gracious host and made sure we had everything we needed. In the evening, we enjoyed drinking tea by the fire. I would definitely recommend this cozy getaway.

Magical!
Our experience staying at the Tizer Gardens large cabin was simply magical! No, there wasn't running water. No there was no wifi. No there wasn't an attached toilet. But the chance to wander 6 acres of world class Botanical gardens with just the two of us was priceless! Watching the trout feeding in the creek just outside our door and watching literally dozens of hummingbirds flying around us was once in a lifetime special!

Beautiful, quiet, relaxing setting
If you truly want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. We enjoyed a peaceful, quiet weekend in a 100+ year old cabin in a beautiful multi-acre setting. In the evenings, we had the botanical gardens all to ourselves!

Awesome time travel experience
Staying in this cabin was an amazing experience. My only regret was not stay for another night , but the natural beauty and solitude there was terrific. Host was terrific too, provided all I needed from campfire wood and kindling to a great tour of facilities. Gardens were fun to see, but great to see when lit up at night. I originally booked as I was travelling through and needed a place to stay and I always enjoy something different than the normal hotels. Highly recommend for the experience alone.

Lovely garden
Garden, cabin and host were lovely and accomodating. Only suggestion i would have is more full coverage window coverings since windows are right on the trail that people walk on. But the privacy in the evening is particularly enjoyable!

We loved our stay at Tizer Gardens/the cabin. What a unique place to visit - especially in May, during spring runoff and the garden blooms. Unique and wonderful place!
I cannot recommend this property enough! It's a lovely and unique place. It's really nice to be able to walk around the gardens on your own and they provide everything you need! It got just a little chilly while we stayed but we were perfectly warm in the room during the night with all the options they give you. My wife really appreciate the heated blanket that can be customized on each side of the bed. Providing everything needed for a fire was a great bonus. It's really an amazing place. Don't miss it!

Great place to get away from the rat race
Tizer Botanical Garden and Arboretum is a very special place of luxurious flowers, birds, butterflies, meandering streams, whimsical garden sculptures, vibrant forest, and walking trails all around the charming140 year old cabin. If you can be comfortable without cell or internet service or running water in the cabin, then this is a fabulous get-away retreat.

By far one of my favorite places I've stayed!
The cabins are super cute and cozy. The gardens are amazing and being there over night by the fire was fantastic. We will be staying again. Belva is a wonderful host. We enjoyed getting to meet her and get some history o the place and good recommendations for food.

Enchanted Garden
This was one of the stops on our honeymoon trip. We had the entire garden to ourselves and enjoyed every minute exploring and relaxing among the beauty. We slept peacefully with sounds of the running creek and scents of the outdoors. Loved every minute of our time there.

Great energy, relaxing and serene
This property is AMAZING! You can spend hours wandering around the gardens...smelling flowers and admiring all the hard work and love that went into the several acres it consists of. The host was very lovely, and we spent many moments talking about the flowers and the accommodations. It was nice to NOT have to worry about technology or fancy amenities. The cabin was cozy, the bed comfortable and the creek lulled us to sleep. Will definitely visit again next summer!

Such an amazing retreat!
This is such a hidden gem outside of Helena. Even with the heat of summer it is cool and breezy in the gardens. The gardens are beautiful and being creekside was incredible. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. Thank you Belva!!!

Not what you expect inside the cabin exactly what you expect outside the cabin.
Not what you expect inside the cabin, almost what you expect outside the cabin. The cabin is 100 years old which is stated in the rental. You have to keep this in mind when you see the cobwebs, dead bugs, varmint eaten blankets, and dust. The in accuracy is that it has running water and that there is a wonderful outside restroom. The water inside is a water jug on the spicket. The restroom is a little walk away from the cabin. It is a compost toilet which means it has no running water and you cannot use toilet paper. It was not fun! There is no running water to wash your hands in the bathroom. It also has a water jug with spicket. The cabin is behind a nursery and the owners home. It is not isolated. When the garden is open for visitors they are walking around your cabin. The outside stream in front of the cabin and the fire at night, that you can build yourself is out of this world! It was the BEST part!!!

I am so sorry that you did not read my description before you booked in for 6 days, there is no shower, no attached bath (and yes you can use toilet paper), no running water (only water dispensers). The cabin is 150 years old (and cleaned everyday). It is in the mountains, in a garden so perhaps you might get some insects in your room. It does sit in the middle of a public garden that is open daily from 10 - 6. I am sorry that you were unhappy with your visit to Montana as well.

Magical romantic peaceful getaway
A great way to have the gardens to yourself. Host had everything we needed. The listing was detailed so we knew what to expect Gardens were easy to find. No shower or running water in the outhouse but we knew that going in. The The cabin was perfect , right next to the creek and the most beautiful surroundings it was fun to walk through the gardens see all the unique touches the owners put into the design. Magical, a lifetime memory.
Glamping in fairyland. I’ve never seen anything like this. I cannot imagine the love, creativity & work that created this Botanical Garden. The clear, babbling brook threads through the property with bridges, hide-aways and comfy chairs. Nighttime brings magical fairy lights everywhere. We were lucky to experience a nighttime lightening & thunderstorm!

Perfect for Glamping
My husband and I stayed here for one night on our honeymoon. It was lovely! The owner was not around, but the staff at the Gardens were well informed and very helpful. We arrived nearly 3 hours early so the cabin wasn't ready yet, but they let us wander around the gardens and made us feel very welcome. Jefferson City isn't much more than an exit off the highway so there isn't anything else to do in the area. However, if you are passing through or want a woodland retreat, this is the perfect place. One note: perhaps I missed the obvious since I was planning a wedding, but this is more like glamping than a house. Screens on the windows don't quite fit and there is no running water. But there is electricity, a table, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and water jugs. (Bathroom is up the walk a few steps). Additionally, there is a lovely porch and many lovely places to sit throughout the gardens. This is a wonderful place to enjoy the weather and the outdoors!

Couldn’t find the bathroom!
Unfortunately due to our travel, we didn’t show up till close to midnight. The host left instructions on how to get into the property, but they weren’t very clear. After trying to figure out where to park and what driveway to go into, which took out half an hour, we finally found the cabin. It looks like a lot of fun to stay in, but it’s in the middle of a garden which opens the public at 10 AM. The windows don’t fully close with the blinds so if we were going to be in there till checkout time at 11 people would be able to look into see what we’re doing. There is also not a bathroom and there’s no running water in the cabin. There is a toilet house somewhere, but even though we followed the instructions after another half hour of looking for it we couldn’t find it. I’m pregnant and couldn’t wait any longer so we ended up leaving to go to a hotel since the host had gone to bed. Not sure if there’s running water in the toilet house.

Well Betsy I am so sorry you had so much trouble finding your way. I did stay up until midnight waiting for you to arrive even though I do have to work in the morning. I did wake up at 1:20 am to a flashlight shining in my window. I checked the cabin, and the curtains were closed so I figured you were fine and went back to bed. I did send you instructions twice as to how to find the toilet which is about 40 feet from the cabin. I also had every light on for you, especially those from the cabin to the toilet. There is no running water but there are water dispensers in both the cabin and the toilet. I'm sorry in three years I have never had anyone not be able to find the toilet. And when you book the cabin, we give you all the details including that the cabin is in the middle of a public garden which opens at 10. I am so sorry you had such a terrible experience, I am sure if you had actually stayed here your experience would have been quite different.

The cabin was a beautiful stop on our honeymoon. The host was very kind and the location was magical! Falling asleep to the sounds of water flowing down the creek was amazing! I would recommend a stay here to anyone visiting the area!

A fairy woodland venture
My husband and I spent one night here on our way from glacier National park to Yellowstone and we found it the perfect stopping point. You are truly staying in a cabin in the middle of a botanic garden on the most adorable little creek. It was cold when we went but we stayed warm with the furnace and heated blanket provided. The bed was also quite comfy. Come prepared like your going camping and you will enjoy yourself. There is no running water but there is a water dispenser in the cabin and the bathroom, which is about 30 ft from the cabin. There was no hot water that I could find unless you count the Keurig coffee machine. There was a mini fridge and a microwave and the vibe was super cozy and whimsical. We enjoyed a nice camp fire by the stream at night (wood provided) there was some pretty lights that lit up the trees near by. Waking up was my favorite part because exploring the gardens was truly a treat. I felt like I was surrounded by fairies and gnomes. The host was on site and did offer me a shower but it seemed it wasn’t something she did for everyone. Very nice and could tell she loved it there and was proud of what she and her late husband had created. This place is a must see if you want to try something truly unique.

Magical Hideaway
