"What a find! The reviews said that some rooms were a bit tired and the food is good with generous portions. So I thought I’d take a chance. It was good value especially compared to accommodation in Spain, where I had just been. The room was excellent - one of the largest rooms that I’ve stayed in. Food really was superb - really well cooked and generous portions. I was able to park my motorbike in a locked compound which has also has a security camera. The spa had Turkish and Swedish saunas, a small pool and an area to lounge around - great at the end of the day after enjoying the roads. The Portuguese roads!!! Wonderful bends and (in March) very few people on the roads. And great value. What’s not to like? All I can say, is what a find – thoroughly recommended. "

"This is such a cool location. We only stayed for one night but the breakfast was delightful, staff was kind and welcoming, and the room was spacious and clean. Be sure to call when you arrive so they can come greet you at the door! "

"The house was very clean and spacious, warm and comfortable, with a real log fire to complement the central heating. Our host Paula, a lovely lady, was an excellent host and very helpful, especially when Portugal was affected by a major power outage - she responded with torches, candles, warm soup, heating up a meal for us and a vacuum flask of hot water! We spent a fortnight exploring the Montesinho trails on foot and bike, and enjoyed it immensely. Rural northern Portugal at its best."
