It was a beautifully restored mansion. We were in the basement but there was plenty of sunlight streaming in from windows. Bedroom was in upstairs loft so stairs to navigate . Bathroom downstairs. Everything updated and very clean. Breakfast was delicious, from granola with fruit to eggs and small spinach pies. Tasty orange cake to top it off! Lovely place with garden and resident tortoise and areas to sit outside with a glass of wine. Highly recommend and use the donkeys to carry luggage!

This place was a true delight! We spent 3 nights on Hydra and wish we could have stayed longer. Our room was lovely, clean and extremely comfortable. And did I mention large? Downstairs was a little living room, closet and bathroom. Upstairs in the loft was a deliciously comfortable bed with another sitting area. We also had our choice of numerous outdoor sitting areas, that we could choose from depending on the time of day and position of the sun. That made relaxing at the hotel outdoors very welcome. The staff (especially Agli) was very gracious and made it very clear that our comfort was their top priority. They gave us great restaurant recommendations and other suggestions about what to do on the island. We had to check out early on our last morning to catch an early ferry, so they prepared a breakfast and delivered it to our room the evening before so we could eat in our room before taking off. I was so sorry we had to leave this lovely oasis on this sleepy Greek island. But it was the perfect way to end our 2 week stay in Greece. We’re home now, but we have fond memories and lots of photos to remind us of our wonderful time at the Cotommatae and Hydra.
