Riverbank Trailside Cabin 24A
What do our guests say about us? Perfect! Amazing! Awesome! We will be back!
As you round the shoreline, the stretching waterfront landscape will catch your eye as you approach the parking lot directly in front of the lodge (Yes! There is ample space for a trailer!). You will use a keyless lock system to enter your cabin.
Open the door and walk down the stairs into your new place. Upon entry, you will be instantly greeted with the aroma of pine which is visible in the tongue and groove walls and ceiling as well as an instant sight of north facing windows capturing a stunning view of the Portage Canal. On second look, you will notice a comfortable queen bed inside a single bedroom and a queen pull out sleeper sofa (sleeps 4 total) among other beautifully crafted pieces of cedar, Amish made furniture.
Each of our hand made, custom milled, northwoods cabins boast a three story duplex including a ground level, garden style unit and an upstairs double decker terrace style unit. The cabin size in total is 2,500 square feet! (550 and 1,950 square feet respectively). They all include full kitchens and washer/dryer units for your convenience and utility.
Walk out the back door onto your patio and embrace the jaw dropping, sweeping beauty of the Keweenaw Waterway in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Whatever your needs may be: Visiting Michigan Tech, snowmobiling (the Bill Nichols trail is only .25 miles from the resort!), swimming at the beach, or skiing (Mont Ripley is less than 2 miles from the resort), we offer a comfortable, comprehensive resort experience for you.
Memories are in the making!

We stayed here for 2 nights on our mini honeymoon. It was great! Waking up and drinking coffee on the patio was my favorite thing! Will definitely be back!
The property was very new and very clean. Being labeled as a resort, I thought there would be more than just a place to stay. As there are other buildings being built, hopefully there will be “resort” amenities someday.
We rented this place over a long weekend to move our son into Michigan Tech. The location couldn’t have been better. The waterway is just beautiful! Very close to everything - stores and the beach, trails etc too. Very convenient to Michigan Tech. You can’t get down to the water to fish right now though because of how steep the rocky hill is, but when their construction is complete that will probably change. We would stay here again!
Keweenaw Waters Resort was a very nice property right on the channel. We loved the very large balcony/porch! The neighbors above us seemed very loud when we walked into the shared entryway, but once we were in our apartment, we could not really hear them at all. Check-in was online and very easy, although I did it so long beforehand I did not remember how to check in once I got to the property. The contact phone number was answered immediately even though it was 9pm at night and the employee gave me the room number and guided me through finding my door code. I brought my dog along and was pleased to find a special blanket and bowl just for him, however as the property is on the hillside leading to the river and there is still construction going on for more apartments, there was not much grassy area to walk him. The couchbed was not the comfiest thing, but it worked for the one night we needed for a party of 3. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others and stay again in the future!
Brand spanking new, great price, awesome view of the canal. Already making reservations for this fall when we come back. Perfect for when we visit our daughter at MI Tech.
10 out of 10 Snowmobile friendly...trailer parking, very close to trail 3 and fuel in Houghton. Exactly what we expected from listing, no surprises, it was perfect. Will rent annually going forward!
Lovely cabin. The bottom unit is pretty small. A squeeze for 3, perfect for 2, but no way for 4. Only complaint is upstairs cabin is very loud for the downstairs unit (loud footsteps). Also the upstairs tenant was yelling on our first night around 11pm-12am.
