"The host was lovely, however, the property smelt very strongly of tobacco and/or marijuana causing an asthma attack (despite being non-smoking). The property is not private as the host’s Mother resides downstairs and there are curtains missing from the windows etc. Having read positive reviews by other guests we were excited to stay at this property, however, had to leave within 20 mins of arrival and check into hotel based on smell. "I don't usually remember to leave a review, but this was a very excellent hotel. The owners have preserved the historic aspects of the building while thoroughly modernizing the rooms and they are extremely clean. The restaurants are excellent, I ate at Le 9th several times. The location is very quiet and central. The housekeeping was excellent and no matter what time of day I left and took the sign off the door it was clean when I returned, which I did not expect (most US hotels have a set time for cleaning). "

"Plenty of space for all of us. The pool was nice, good location. Property was lovely but tired. Some tlc in places was needed. The pictures on the website don't show the true picture of the property now. Some teething issues which were explained by Jemma, who responded quickly. "

"Salvador is a great host and very helpful. We really enjoyed our short stay. We stayed during a heatwave so the room was fairly warm in spite of Salvador's efforts to cook it down. But, he is working in improving that. And to be fair, the weather was exceptionally hot! The pool is excellent and certainly made to for it. "
