My family and I travel and stay in places like this a lot. Overall we loved this vacation and the accommodations were good, but there is room for improvement. Some of these may seem petty, but I would have appreciated a review highlighting the shortcomings we saw so here we go.
Pros:
Excellent location that is close to everything you need. The location is right on the beach, so after a short walk you can enjoy some of the most beautiful coast line Florida has to offer. The unit itself is very well kept, updated and clean. Everything worked and served us very very well for our time there.
Cons:
We had to buy stuff that you should never have to purchase when renting a place like this. We had to buy a broom and dust pan, salt and pepper, trash bags and toilet paper. These may seem small to some, but buying stuff that I have to leave behind because it wasn’t there in the first place is not acceptable. Now, we had one roll toilet paper when we arrived (for five people, for a week) but everything else was just not there. This may be an exception but I can not in good conscience leave anything higher than three stars as a result.
Additionally, the pull out bed was adequate for my kids but forget about adults getting a good night sleep on it. I recognize this isn’t a totally fair criticism just because virtually no pull out sleeper sofa will be equal to a bed. If that were the only thing wrong, I probably wouldn’t have mentioned it at all, but in the whole scheme, it seems noteworthy. The queen size mattress in the back bedroom wasn’t flat, but had a big dip in the middle which led to my wife and I rolling to the center from either side. This isn’t a normal, small body impression either, it makes it very difficult for two adults to get any sleep because you are constantly rolling inward.
Unfortunately as a result of these things, I would hesitate to recommend it or stay there again. To reiterate; this may not be the rule but an exception. The place in and of itself is located perfectly and was a very nice place to stay. It may seem petty, but I am not accustomed to having to buy this type of thing when I stay somewhere.
