We did really appreciate the pool on the 17th floor. It was lovely to be able to chill, usually completely by ourselves.
The breakfast in the Panorama restaurant on the 16th floor was ok, but not wow. There was an omelette station, but we felt it catered more for Asian tastes. Staff were slow to replenish plates of fruit when it ran out, and the air conditioning failed to cool the restaurant sufficiently.
The 17th floor comprises the Attic Bar, pool and seating. Approximately 2/3 of the space could be considered to be indoors, by virtue of the 18th floor above, and the rest is in the open air. What really annoyed us was that smoking was allowed anywhere on this level.
Other small but annoying things were the miniscule containers of shower gel and shampoo provided. Given we were showering at least twice a day, for two fully grown adults there simply wasn't enough.
The fridge in the room has a glass door with a light inside, which means that at night you have to cover it with a towel to stop it lighting up the room.
The hotel does not have enough umbrellas for the number of guests on a wet Saigon evening. Other hotels we have stayed in provide one or even two in the room. Here the concierge has a limited supply.
Overall we felt the hotel was aiming to cater for the Asian business market rather than Western tourists.
