Great Getaway
The property was a delight. It is nestled in the trees, with great trails and is nice and quiet. It's easy to get to and close to 35W. The pictures depict the property perfectly and the kitchen has everything you need to cook.

Must be okay with dogs
The cabin intself feels spacious and clean. The kitchen/dining area is updated and perfect for entertaining if you have a group. Only 2 of the 4 burners on the stove worked when we were here. The large table was perfect for playing games. No issues working the TV. We didn't make a fire but there are several places on property with wood conveniently stacked nearby. There's a nice loop through the woods you can walk to overlook the river. We had no interest in the casino but you are only a few miles from it. We ended up taking an easy day trip to Duluth one of our days. Our main negative takeaway isn't exactly in the host's control, but did make a large impact on the trip. I think it is a must know for some people: At least 3 dogs from 2 neighbors were on site for a large portion of our stay. We found fresh dog poo just off the porch and by our car after our first night. The dogs were consistently present anytime we left/arrived with the car. Initially, it was challenging to unload our car and get inside because they were jumping at our doors/windows and barking. The dogs also tried to follow us into the cabin. They would return in the evening and bark through the windows, which could be quite startling and a bit eerie. Made our trip unduly stressful. Normally, I love dogs but their owners were never in sight and they jumped and barked a lot. Overall, I would say they were friendly enough but at 8 months pregnant and with ice this made me nervous anytime we went outside.

Thanks for a great stay!
I had a very laid back, comfortable and enjoyable stay. The property is just as described, is very clean, and nicely updated. The kitchen is very well stocked, and the entire place had everything I needed. The trails and fun outdoor fire pits were a nice bonus. As others have noted, the neighbors have a bunch of dogs that will come visit you (and bark a lot anytime you're outside). They are friendly, and my dog looked forward to their visits. But if you have a small dog or a dog that doesn't get along with other dogs, you will want to be more careful. But my dog loved playing in the yard with his new friends.

Girls get-away
Stayed here for a girls get-away, long weekend. Inside the cabin was great! Very clean and accommodating. Beds were comfortable however there were flannel sheets on them and im not a fan. Items were pretty well stocked except a few things. We couldnt find one washcloth and had to go buy some. Outside was a little less impressive. There were 3 hornets above the main entrance door. We couldnt use that door. Side door was fine. There are pictures in the description that show a firepit and chairs around it, looking over the bluff. That firepit is a good 10 minute walk down a mostly cleared path. Pretty, yes. But not ideal to sit around a fire at night. You would have to haul everything you need down there. Maybe a sign at the start of the path behind the cabin stating how far you need to walk. That being said, there is another nice firepit in the yard. We had to bring chairs from the patio table over but it worked out nice. Tons of firewood provided!! Many other reviews mentioned the neighbor dogs. They never did come in the yard but they do bark a lot! Super sad, because anytime we drove by, they were all just tied up in the yard. Overall, we were happy with our stay.

Cozy Place
Although we did not spend much time here during our trip, we did enjoy this home. Very cozy. Loved the open floor plan. The bedrooms provided more than enough room to accommodate us all. Wish i could of taken advantage of the jacuzzi tub but not enough time.

Great Stay
Was a great area to stay in, place was clean and had plenty of amenities. Only thing would be the neighbors (Which you cant see.) Has dogs that will bark for a while if you are outside and they hear you.

Enjoyed our stay
The cabin was beautiful and loved the open layout! My husband and I brought our dogs and there was a lot of room for the 4 of us. We found everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking and air conditioning worked very well. As a note, the big burner does not work on the stove. The location was perfect. Super close to a state park and the river. The dogs had a fun time swimming and playing. The casino is closeby and found it has a free games (pool, arcade, darts) by the bowling and bar area. The posting is a little misleading regarding the proximity to the water. We walked the trail, its pretty long but less than a mile, but at the end it is an overlook with no access. I was hoping that the cabin was more set back for more seclusion. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

Great Cabin Retreat
The cabin was great. Kitchen is lovely & overall comfy & clean. We had plenty of room. Looks like some work is being finished up in the bathroom, possibly? There were lots of pantry items, towels, & paper products were well stocked. No fault of the owners but the neighbors have dogs that were barking a lot & every evening someone kept driving by & playing loud music.

Cabin is amazing and fully stocked with everything.
Cabin was clean and very comfortable. Just to make you aware to no fault of the owner that there are a bunch of the neighbors dogs that are on the property constantly. I happen to have 2 small dogs that were with me so it was difficult to be outside.

Great spot!
The cabin was spacious and open allowing us to spread out but be together. It was also clean and well stocked with dishes and cookware, toilet paper, trash bags, etc. The yard was nice and big and the kids loved the play set. There were also some toys for littles in the house and a game cabinet. As a lot of other reviews mentioned the neighbors dogs come over... a lot. At one point one of them was there for two days straight. They are nice dogs, so just depends on how you feel about that. Definitely don't leave your food on the outside table unattended lol. Also, expect mosquitoes, a lot of them. Overall, this is a great place and we had a wonderful time. The owner is very helpful and timely in responses. We would come again.

I booked this property for my husband and his dog as a local spot to relax in. Communication with the owner was great prior to booking and very efficient. My husband reported that the cabin and grounds were amazing and even more lovely than the photos and descriptions alluded to. No Working Heat
When I arrived at the property there was no working heat. I called the owner and was informed that the boiler was broken and that there were only space heaters. None of this was mentioned in the property listing or disclosed before I arrived. There was also no note about this either. I found the heat situation to be inadequate. It didn’t result in a comfortable stay as you couldn’t have them on at night for obvious safety reasons and I had to reset breakers several times just to get it work. What was supposed to be a quiet relaxing weekend was the opposite. I booked the place for three nights and decided just to leave after two. This is probably a fine enough place to stay when the weather is warmer.

Unfortunately, I was not informed of your challenges with the heat when you stayed at the property. I only found out, after you left the property. I then also provided you a substantial credit after the fact, even though I had no opportunity to resolve the issue. This heat source was very safe and worked throughout the entire winter without issue. I apologized for this issue although I had no opportunity to react to it.

The cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was one of the most well stocked we have stayed at. Everything we needed to prepare good meals was available. Relaxing stay.
Would of been nice to know the heat didn’t work ahead of time after we wasted an hour trying to get it going. Turned out to be no big deal as other heaters kept it warm enough. Just would of been nice to know in advance. Also didn’t like to have to shovel our way in. Plow driver left a nice big pile of snow in front of the steps then have to shovel to the door. Overall we enjoyed our stay and more than likely will be back.

4 of us enjoyed this rental. We played cards for hours and watched some Netflix and had some great food. We found everything acceptable with only one suggestion which is the lighting especially over the dinning room table and possibly in the TV area. Dimmers worked but still weren’t real bright.

Great Cabin
The cabin was perfect for our small group and we hope we will have an opportunity to return. Communication with the owner was great -- emails were answered quickly prior to our stay and we had a problem figuring out how to get the heat to work and owner called and walked us through the process. Other than that everything was very nice, cabin very clean and well stocked with whatever needs we may have had. Very pleased and we look forward to possibly come in when our group is 4 (or 5) people. Thank you to the owner!

Lovely weekend away
I wanted to get away for my birthday weekend and this place was fantastic. We had intended to go kayaking and brought our gear, but the weather wasn't great so we ended up just relaxing, reading, napping, taking walks and enjoying the lovely kitchen. Easy to find and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend and come back.

Perfect getaway
We had a blast at this cabin just outside of hinckley. It was perfect for our family, the size was great, not cramped at all. We spent so much time outside, and it was great for us that it wasn’t right on a lake or river, so we didn’t have to worry about the littles wandering into the water. Just a short drive from plenty of hiking and fishing options. We got to enjoy the outdoor fireplace, the hammock, and even found some ripe blackberries behind the cabin. The highlight for everyone was the neighbor dog, Rambo, who visited two days in a row, was so friendly to our dogs, and so fun and gentle with all the kids. We’d love to come back sometime!

This cabin was so beautiful! The pictures don’t even do it justice. It was so nice having a kitchen stocked with dishes and utensils, washer and dryer, lots of space and amenities. I contacted the host about bringing my cat and he was super responsive and said yes! I really hope to stay here again. It was awesome.

We had a great time staying here. It was a great spot for home base to go hiking which we did every day. Easy to access St Croix State Park, Banning State Park and Jay Cooke State Park.

It worked for our needs, but could use some improvements
We needed a place to stay for an event in town, but we really did not want to stay at the Casino Hotel again. This option popped up and it looked great. Was supposed to have a good view of the water, and seemed to look like a quiet county get-a-way. Now, the host maid everything easy. It was easy check-in and out, and there was some amenities in the house. However, most of them were left from past guests and we really did not want to touch them. It did get us away from the Casino Hotel, but it was not quiet or have any enjoyable views. This time of year, summer, it is an overgrown mess. The wood deck it just surrounded by thick tree line. We did not care to venture down the overgrown path to find the shoreline. It just looked to fall into oblivion. We stayed indoors most of the time anyways because we were outside at the event all day. Not a huge deal, just did not meet expectations based on the photos. Inside was fine, plenty of rooms, and common space. Unfortunately there was very little light at night. We had to carry table lamps into other rooms just to get enough light to see, including the bathroom. Many of the light switches had little sliders to adjust the light, but you would get a different result with each slide; still fairly dim at full. The bathroom also had a mis-match variety of problems. The counter and base were different sizes, and patched with a chunk of wood; same with the tub. The tub was hug, but not really clean. There was two different ways to fill. The wall shower was leaking everywhere. It had an RV shower head with an on/off switch mounted on it, but if you bumped it there would be water pouring down the wall. If you slide the shower curtain over you would turn on the tub faucet accidentally. The water went from ice cold to surface of the sun hot at a moments notice. Like instantly painfully hot! Then, there was the neighbors. There was loud bass all night long light you were next door to a bar with live music. Multiple nights, bass until early morning hours, not a quiet county get-a-way at all. Bottom line, it did what we needed. However, it was not as advertised in our opinion. Nice host, just not a properly represented property compared to our lengthy experience traveling. A simple bath remodel, putting in brighter bulbs, and a little yard work would really make this place nice; despite the neighbors.

Spacious, clean, and beautiful
This cabin was perfect for our Minnesota trip. Lots of room with a true cabin feel, but not far from anywhere we wanted to go. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

We had a nice stay.
It would be nice to have a walk in shower, for older people they cannot get into the tub. Also we couldn't see the water. Maybe have some brighter bulbs in the light over the table. Overall it was a very nice place.
