With the rest of our family dispersed in different directions for Thanksgiving this year, my husband and I took advantage of the opportunity to spend our first ever "Thanksgiving for two" in the mountains.. This turned out to be the perfect spot. The kitchen is small but well appointed and had everything we needed to pull together a traditional Thanksgiving meal. The living space with a wood burning fireplace was a great place to read or enjoy holiday football on the flat screen TV. Note - the rental agreement says you need to order your own fire wood, which we did, but the message from the owners inside the home appears to be an offer to share their ample supply. The king bed in the master is VERY comfortable, and the separate sitting /dressing area off of the master with a makeup mirror was a very nice touch. Note- unless you like very firm, very thick pillows, consider bringing your own. The expansive front porch is a great place for coffee in the morning and a cocktail in the evening. We far prefer the Weber kettle charcoal grill available here to the gas grills that come with many rentals, and Dusty's on the edge of Highlands toward Sky Valley has fantastic steaks to throw on the grill. Their frozen biscuits are as good as any home made and make a great breakfast treat, so don't miss those. Moss Hill Cottage was just what we were looking for our Thanksgiving getaway, and we are already
checking our calendars to figure out when we can return.
