「Staff very helpful and friendly. Good food and varied real ales. Excellent bedroom, always clean.」

「Pub was dated, and our room had a shower/toilet in a pod, so read the small print when booking. The pod was extremely small with little room to manoeuvre and the extractor fan did not work. Also music could be heard in our room from downstairs. The positive is the shower was warm, the staff extremely friendly and the breakfast good. Also the local clientele were warm, friendly and welcoming」

「I can highly recommend the Pheasant. The staff were excellent, the rooms were small but very well appointed, dinner menu was interesting and varied, breakfast was great. Location was perfect for Kielder Reservoir and in the middle of beautiful Northumberland countryside」

「We booked this at the last minute as we were travelling up to the Scottish borders and wanted to break the journey due to the extreme heat. We arrived very late (about 11pm) but we had called the hotel in advance and one of the staff agreed to wait for us. When we did arrive we were greeted with a very warm welcome. Our one regret is that we didn't have time to make use of the observatory (yes you read that right!) All staff very friendly and helpful and loved the breakfast」
