"This clean, quiet cabin looks out onto mountains and fields. Perfect spot for viewing the night sky. Each morning we heard cows moooing and irrigation whooshing, but one night we clearly heard elk bugling again and again. The cabin has a nice kitchen, a huge bathroom, and a comfy bed. We enjoyed the large main room because it meant our dog could easily keep tabs on us. Our golden retriever was happy to meet the host's three friendly dogs. They greeted us each day and then drifted away. This cabin is the perfect base for touring the John Day fossil beds. The three units are quite a distance from one another, but Kimberly is a great place to start from each day. The Sheep Rock unit - with the Condon museum, Cant Ranch, and multiple short hikes with interpretive displays - is just 30 minutes away. We were able to spend time in all three John Day units plus tour the Kam-Wah-Chung museum in John Day and dig for fossils in the town of Fossil."

"The front desk staff was very nice, and check-in was quick and easy. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the hotel was, especially considering it was at full capacity. Overall, it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay."

"The property was clean, quiet, and had a nice set up, etc. The map to the property took you not to the actual property but it wasn’t hard to figure out. We were a bit surprised by the concrete floors. The road construction was rough but navigable. Not many amenities nearby but everything is close-ish. Overall a good experience and good host/property."

"Our stay was comfortable, quiet, and the staff were very friendly and professional. The hotel was clean and well maintained. My only suggestion would be a small coffee maker in the room. Also, the mini fridge door tends to be challenging to close in the space it was hoised within in our room. Otherwise, excellent stay."
