The Papakea grounds are beautiful, and the condo’s location is good; close to the pool and a top floor unit. Unfortunately, that’s where the upside ends. This unit appears to be simply a source of revenue for the owner where they take a minimalist approach to caring for it or the guest experience to maximize the cash flow.
I can handle the missing and broken panels from the master bath vanity. I can even take the outdated, broken tiling along with the lack of renovation. The issue is lack of cleanliness and overall comfort. Dirty walls and doors, uncleaned vents, and the rusty shower rod that was supposed to be addressed in previous review is still there.
One would think a three-bedroom condo would be equipped for a family stay, but the kitchen was so poorly equipped we had trouble finding cooking gear and serving utensils: I had to borrow a metal spatula to use the resort’s barbeques!
In the master bedroom, the mattress is impossibly hard making for a tough night of sleep if you are a side sleeper. The bed had its original tags, dating it to 1994. Whether or not that matters, I am not sure, but it does not seem like a best practice to have a mattress 27 years old – definitely not worth the cost of the unit.
