It has recently been mostly remodeled while keeping it's original character. This home shares land with a 107+ yr old barn Venue. The Renfro House has one of a kind furniture pieces inside & is perfect for caring guests that appreciate beautiful views! Come visit KY's first settlement where History runs deep. Wedding Barn, and Garage not included in rental. Extra charges apply if bringing a pet or hosting an event. Only 5 mins. from Downtown & 30 minutes from Lexington!

Our party of nine had plenty of room during our weekend stay. The property is stunning and only 35 minutes from Lexington. The hot-tub and sunroom provided an excellent space to unwind after a day at Keeneland.

Not at all clean
The property was nice but the house itself was dirty. Dead bugs all over the house...and not just a few here and then! HUGE amount of bugs of all kinds and they were in every room..on counters, floors, tables, windows, sinks! We had to clean the entire kitchen just to use it! Just gross! We are not talking one or two here and there! The owner warned me there might be dead bugs "The last rental we had left the front door open for about an hour and let some flies in, we vacuumed them up yesterday but you may notice some accumulation in the window sills in the event room after a couple days. If it bothers you all, there is a mini vacuum in the kitchen that you can use." There was food in the fridge from the previous guests....yuck! The trash can in one of the bedrooms still had feminine waste in it from the previous tenant. I am not sure the beds had clean sheets. We found hair in one bed, stained sheets on another, one bedroom the only thing on the two beds was a bottom sheet that did not fit and a bedspreads that were dirty (no top sheets). It was freezing cold this weekend and blankets were in short supply. Contacted the owner...they brought some sheets, 2 blankets and a bed cover. Still not enough. The owners comment was "As I’m sure you know, springtime brings out plenty of bugs and it is a big, old house that has lots of crevices they can be in, my apologies that they have surfaced so quickly. We will take up the rest of the issues with the cleaning lady and will make sure they are rectified going forward. My apologies." If the home had been cleaned just prior to our arrival it would not have been like that. Taking up the problems with your cleaning people does us little good. We thought about just leaving and going home. We went to the store, bought our own cleaning supplies, blankets to stay warm, soap for sinks and kitchen (which were empty) and basically cleaned the premises so we could stay there. ..which I should not have to do. I presented the owner the a long list of problems and asked for a partial refund and I am still waiting for a reply.

Farmstead beauty
We had a wonderful time at the Farmstead. The home was spacious and welcoming. Kristyna made sure the little extras were available incase anything was forgotten. She was very responsive to questions and made us feel at home. We will absolutely book with her again. Thank you Kristyna!!
