The property had very friendly staff and was very accommodating. The bedding was is clean condition. Thank you for making my stay in Hamburg worthwhile. I would recommend them.

NOT SAFE FOR SOLO FEMALE TRAVELLERS! I booked my trip to Hamburg on a tight budget, so I chose to stay in a shared room here based on cost. I checked in on Thursday afternoon (10/04/2025) and was planning to leave on Sunday morning (13/04/2025), but on Thursday night, before I even went to sleep, a man sleeping in a bed near mine (who I later found out worked at Hostel West Light) started to be extremely inappropriate with me. He repeatedly touched me without my permission, called me his girlfriend and offered to give me a massage while I slept, despite me telling him no every time he said things like this. When I told him I was tired and wanted to go to sleep, he asked if he could sleep in my bed with me. I went to reception to see if there were any other available rooms I could be moved to since I didn't feel safe sleeping in the same room as someone who had acted this way towards me. It was at this point I was told that the man was a member of staff, and because of this the security guard at reception refused to believe me or hear my side of what had happened, telling me "he's not scary". In the end, I had to book a last minute room somewhere else because it was clear the staff working that night had no regard for my safety or comfort.

Virkilega kósý og krúttlegt.

Lítið herbergi, ekki loftkæling. Mjög snyrtilegt og fínt. Þægilegt rúm en bara eins manns rúm (100x200cm). Engar sjónvarpsstöðvar eða streymisveitur í sjónvarpinu. Starfsfólkið yndislegt, sofandi næturvakt sem vaknaði ekki við að ég hringdi í símann eða hringdi á bjöllunni um klukkan 01:30, þurfti að banka fast. Mjög góð staðsetning og kósý hótel.

Die Zimmerbelüftung war schlecht und nachts war es heiß, sodass ich nicht gut schlafen konnte. Außerdem war die Musik aus der Stadt bis etwa 3 Uhr morgens sehr laut, was meinen Schlaf störte, obwohl das Hostel West Light dafür nicht verantwortlich war.

Ok hostel i red light området af reeperbahn. Værterne talte ikke rigtig engelsk. Bemærk at både sovesal og badeværelse er unisex, så hvis man er privat mht tøjskift er det altså i en toiletbås, hvor der dog er fin plads til det. Sparsomt lys - måske var det i stykker da jeg var der. En smule utrygt som solo kvinde, men der var god ro og orden blandt gæster.
