Come and experience this Secluded French Chateau that offers a stay in luxury and convenience. You will find breathtaking Panoramic Expansive views of Lake Guntersville while you relax near the pool. The 5500 sqft main house provides 4 charming master suites, each holding a King-sized bed as well as a full personal bathroom, and one bedroom that holds a Queen sized bed with tons of space. On the main floor, you will find the fully furnished kitchen that offers Wolf Double ovens, a gas stove with a griddle and multiple appliances along with enough dishware for up to 12 guests! This property includes two living areas that are perfect for several large families travelling together who may need the extra space. The grounds are landscaped to offer a true oasis with an outdoor fireplace and a heated pool. There will be ample space to park your cars, boats, and trailers for fishermen and anglers!

My stay was terrible we had water leaks coming from second floor dripping in the doorway of master bedroomas soon as we arrived I messaged our host without a response Kitchen sink drain was stopped up our entire stay the inside of house was dirty and not clean we had no wash clothes coffee pot has missing parts garbage can draw is broken all indoor appliances are filthy the add on VRBO says this property has a heated pool and hot tub the pool was filthy and not heated the hot water is green the grounds around the house is terrible all outside furniture is covered with dirt and mold I had to literally get of my vehicle and remove limbs and sticks to get in the driveway to the house

Prior to renting I asked the host if the heated pool and hot tub would be available in Dec./Jan. because our decision to rent this particular house hinged on a "yes". For the entire week of our stay, we never were able to use either, though we contacted the host (management company) every day. The pool heater was turned on the day we arrived in Dec. The pool had a leak and they ran a garden hose in to keep it filled, which of course just kept adding cold water to the already cold water. The pool was full of leaves, and the hot tub had brown, foamy scum all the way around the perimeter. The kitchen was poorly supplied. There was not enough silverware for the 9 adults to be able to sit and eat together at the same time. After asking for help so many times, the property manager became rude in her response. HOWEVER, after contacting VRBO, and their contacting property management, I believe there have been some changes made; and I received a PARTIAL refund. This does not make up for a ruined family vacation, but it's better than nothing and going to court, which I was prepared to do.

It has a lovely view and is in a fabulous location! With some TLC and a a really thorough deep clean, it could be a lovely place. However, here are the problems my 11 friends and I encountered on our stay. Bathroom issue - couldn't find all of them , no access to the bathroom that we later found out what was in the pool house. One bathroom wasn’t working. We feel like it was falsely advertised. It was inconvenient to have to go through a bedroom to find a bathroom. Broken cabinets. Dirty pool and pool furniture. We were not able to use the pool. There were no batteries in the remote controls for the TVs. You should also know that one of the beds in the “bunk” room is on the floor. Overall, we had a great getaway, but I would love to see this place receive some help, then I would gladly recommend it to friends!

Girl Trip 2025 to Guntersville

Four longtime friends and I stayed at Windsor Estate for four nights. We enjoyed hanging out by the pool, sipping our morning coffee in the screened in porch, looking at the beautiful lake, and talking and playing games in the many rooms and areas available. The road leading to the house is pretty curvy and narrow, but it’s is fine if you drive slowly. There was plenty of room for all of our cars in the driveway. The house is close to many restaurants and stores. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would consider renting Windsor Estate again.

Perfect

Exactly what we needed for the gurls family getaway. Plenty of room for the 8 of us. There were 8 beds and multiple couches that could have served as a sleeping spot. This is a BIG place that just kept gping on. The pool was wonderful as was the hot tub. Pool was heated which was nice as it was a bit chillier than we had hoped outside, but we really wanted pool time. We had a great stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Windsor Estate! It is a beautiful home with a breathtaking view. Some previous reviews had us concerned about the condition of the home so we reached out to confirm that any previous problems had been resolved and they had been. Beautifully decorated, clean and in good repair. Yes, there is a chipped tile here and there but the few cosmetic flaws do not hinder the functionality of the space. Lighten up, nothing is perfect and if you pass on this place you're going to miss a grand piece of history here. The pool is heated and the hot tub is nice! It is very secluded yet close to town. We did have a small issue with one of the central hear and air units upstairs (it was the first hot day of the season), Caitlyn replied and called me very promptly and Derek came right away to have a look at it. They both made a special trip the following morning to make sure the pool and hot tub were super clean due to the oak trees dropping their Spring tassels... which can be impossible to keep up with! We appreciated both Caitlyn and Derek very much! Would we stay again? Absolutely, you bet we would!

All lies!!! Do not rent this house

We paid for pool and jacuzzi. Jacuzzi was empty and torn up. Pool was very low and dirty. The outdoor lights didn’t work. All around the house. It was very dark and you couldn’t see even the pool. Very dangerous for my elderly parents and kids. They pretend to be unaware and get someone out to fix them. But never happened. The dish washer doesn’t work. The stove griddle was absolutely filthy! The whole house was dusty and dirty. Pillows on couches are filthy and stained. Yuck! Homeowners doesn’t care and won’t respond. Ripped us off and charged us good money for a house with amenities we couldn’t use. I ask to be compensated and they ignored me!! They are thieves making money on a Vrbo and nobody is doing anything about it. Go back and read the other reviews something happened to others. Seriously thinking about never using Vrbo again. People need to be held accountable for false advertising

Best Weekend ever, Grandpa!

We rented for the July 4th holiday to have a place with a pool and room for the whole family. We had 10 sleep over and 18 for meals on the 4th. My granddaughter from Tacoma said it was the highlight of her 2 weeks in Alabama.

Do not recommend

This property has pictures up that are not current, the home is misrepresented and I have filed a claim as such with VRBO. I took pictures as I left to demonstrate the condition of the home; I also contacted the owner to tell them the dishwasher and pool lights did not work, with no response. Additionally, I worked with VRBO reps multiple times for a refund and the owner kept hanging up on the call. I pulled dirty dishes out of the cabinets and then found that the dishwasher did not work and I hand washed for my entire stay. The covered porch in the pictures does not have windows as the listing shows, it has screens. There are roof leaks with black mold around the roof leaks; water ponds inside the patio when it rains. Most of the furniture is moldy, or covered in stains - I got out flat sheets to cover some of the furniture to sit on. A drawer in the kitchen was not attached to sliders, they weren't even in the drawer, and collapsed when you pulled it out. There are crumbling pathways between the house and pool. There is some type of build up of rust/water damage on the exterior of the porch. There are exposed outlets, without covers (I had no children present); a few outlets had wires sticking out of them. The pool cleaner did work, so the pool was usable, sheets and towels were clean. This house may have been nice 10-15 years ago, but it is in disrepair. I took pictures also showing the size of the bushes to demonstrate how old the current listing's pictures are.

Church Group Getaway

My small group from church stayed here for a weekend away together. Everyone loved it! From the spacious rooms to the wonderful pool, it was perfect for families with little ones and adults as well. Tracie was very responsive and accommodating with quick replies. We hope to stay here again next summer!
