Walking into the place we were met with a lovely first impression! Decor was nice & very spacious. Not very personable though. No welcoming folder with tourist helpful notes, recommendations, takeout menus, etc. that we usually find at VRBO locations. Unfortunately, we had some issues with the home. One bed had no top sheet on and another had dirty sheets. There were a minimal # of lower hotel grade towels provided. We had to do laundry several times in order to have enough for the week. Sleeps 8: 8 towels is what you get. Not enough washcloths or hand towels. No extras. Communication from host came the morning of arrival indicating bath towels provided, basic kitchen supplies but need to bring beach towels. As we were driving 2 days to get there, this was too late to communicate arrival info. Kitchen had very basic supplies. Dirty utensils found in drawer. All pans were teflon coated, but most were scratched & peeling. One had burned food on it. Big health concern so none of them were useable. There was an air fryer available, but had not been cleaned & was coated with rancid oil and food remnants. Fortunately, we had brought our own so could feed family safely. Other issues: smoke detector went off middle of night. Expired, so we had to deal with dismantling in at 2 am. Laundry is not located in unit, but in an unfinished room in lower level. Inconvenient. Bottom line: perfect for spring break college kids, not so great for families wanting the convenience of a home.
