The house was very comfortable and very clean. We had no need to contact the owner although they made themselves available. We truly enjoyed every moment of it and would love to stay here again.
We’ve been vacationing in GulfShores/Orange Beach/Florida panhandle for years. This was one of the best overall and cleanest properties that we’ve been too.Nicki is the best host by far that I’ve encountered from start to finish! We will return!
We loved the house, the location, the dock! I can’t say one bad thing about this house. The owners are super nice and quick to respond to any questions. We will definitely stay here again!
Well maintained, looks new, very clean. Location is great, view of the bay. Easy walk to the beach. Very relaxing place, beautiful view. Well furnished didn’t really need to bring anything just groceries. Will book again in the future.

Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
Everything about the stay was perfect. The house was very nice, clean, well kept, and well stocked. The location and property were fantastic, and the property manager was very nice and accommodating. Would definitely stay again.
This is one of the nicest Ft Morgan VBRO rentals that I've used bay or beach side in the last 8yrs.Fully furnished, clean, updated, prime bayside location, and comes with exceptional hospitality. If you rent here yku won't be disappointed.
Very clean comfortable and quiet! Close to lots of local establishments. Looking over the bay was spectacular. Well furnished with everything needed. Communication with owner was extremely prompt and she was very responsive to all our questions and needs!!
Clean, nice home with a great view of the bay. Caught several species off the dock and at the beach across the street. The golf course near by was immaculate. Will stay here again.
Pelican’s Perch was exactly what we were hoping for! Gorgeous house and surroundings. We loved spending time outside fishing and enjoying the private beach area and dock. Host was extremely accommodating and responsive. We enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to come back!
Peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. Thoroughly enjoyed Mobile Bay and Gulf of Mexico atmosphere. “Pelican Perch” well named because of the pelicans flying around property and perching on older structures over the water. The cottage was a real plus for us.
I would give Pelican’s Perch more than 5 stars if I could. This place is an amazing property on the bay with a very short walk of about 5 minutes to the beach on the Gulf side. The house was just as it was pictured and was immaculately clean when we arrived.
Nicki was a great host and you cannot go wrong with a stay here when visiting the area.
I know that this will be the first property I check on when we are planning another trip.
I would highly recommend the pelican perch. Clean and beautiful views from every window in the house. Clean white sand for children to play or fish off the dock while cooking out on the charcoal grill. Beds were so comfortable and the neighborhood itself was clean with a friendly atmosphere for families. We will return next year!!!
Like new home in beautiful condition. Very clean. Gorgeous Bay view from living room. Comfortable King bed, living room furniture is extremely nice. More than likely my new “home away from home”! Hope to return soon. The only reason not to book this place is if it has already been booked by someone else…The host was great and had great communication.
We will be back! Nikki was awesome thruout the process. The house was so clean which was nice after some places we stayed in past. Everything you need is here. Only 1 tiny suggestion is to put up a full length mirror on a door somewhere. I have 3 girls and they needed it bad but other than that everything was great!
The property was exactly as portrayed in the description and pictures. But, the many extras are hard to include. The host provided so many thoughtful extras - laundry detergent, shampoo(in case you forgot yours), a few coffee pods with cream and sugar. We arrived earlier than expected and the cottage was ready and waiting for us! The cottage was so nicely decorated and looked new. Comfy beds and cloud soft pillows welcomed us after a fun day of fishing, bicycling, and exploring.Perched on the edge of Mobile Bay, we were often visited by dolphin venturing into the canal and a solitary alligator cruising the bank!Sitting on the sofa, you are able to watch the sunrise and sunset. This was a rare treat!Thank you, Nicki!
1) The hosts were very friendly and responsive.
2) The cottage has recently been renovated and the results are amazing. No corners were cut, and the attention to detail is very apparent. The new furniture in the living is very nice looking and sturdy.
3) The sanded area around the camp is great for kids.
4) Five minute walk to the Gulf. It was relatively clear while we were there.
5) We caught many Pinfish, Pig fish, and even a tiny Spanish Mackerel (threw it back of course) in the bay.
I can't think of anything negative.
We loved Pelican's Perch. Our usual house in that same neighborhood was booked for the week we wanted so we chose this little cottage. It has fantastic views, even from the inside you can see everything. Furniture was comfortable, clean and the cottage itself was clean. Very cozy! The king bed was not that great, in our opinion. The beach area and dock are great. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the chairs provided. We also brought our own chairs and sat under the house in the afternoons enjoying the cool breeze. The cottage was a lot smaller than what we've rented in the past. There was not a lot of space in the bathrooms to "unpack your stuff". Also, in the kitchen, there isn't really anyplace to put all the groceries, etc. except the countertops. There is not a dishwasher. OH wait, that's me! :) They provided hand soap, dish soap, a roll of paper towels and toilet paper, If you are only staying a week it was plenty. The neighborhood is quiet. We watched dolphins out in the bay everyday. And there was an neighborhood alligator that was fun to watch from afar. Nicki, our host, was very responsive even answering questions before our stay. That is always appreciated! It was a great stay! We would definitely consider renting this cottage again.
I never rent a property with less than a 4.7 average star rating. But I took a risk on a property with no reviews when I booked it, and the risk paid off.
This property is in a beautiful location! My husband was able to fish off the private pier and I was able to work on my dissertation with a beautiful water view.
Description says it's a 5-7 minute walk to the beach. We chose to drive and park in one of the two little pull off areas. We could have walked, but carrying beach supplies it's a bit far. While we did watch one family with a smaller child walk from our neighborhood one day, it seems everyone else mostly drove golf carts over.
The beach was beautiful, even on the tropical storm days. It was only "busy" one of the seven days we went. Oddly enough, that was on a Monday.
Fort Morgan is a low key area. Basically two restaurants, one little store, and a Dollar General are available without making a 30 minute drive to Gulf Shores. It was exactly what we were looking for, but if you need access to "stuff" 24/7, this may be too far off the beaten path for you.
We've never specifically discussed returning to the same place in the past, but we're already debating a two week stay next summer.
