About this property

The Vintage Cottage with riverfront access

  • Saltwater pool is CLOSED for the season!
Welcome one and all to Dunmovin'. The Cottage ,you will be staying in has a 40's vibe, but still has the creature comforts we have all come to expect. Don't forget your fishing pole, this property is on the banks of the Wild and Scenic Rogue River. Lounge by the heated saline pool (mid April-October), feed the geese, go shopping, or head to any of the amazing restaurants that are just around the corner. I'm in the city limits, so everything is just around the corner. It's my slice of heaven and I'm sharing it with you.

I also have a larger vacation studio apartment it is River facing and poolside with a full kitchen.

Some things I gladly share with my clients include a saline pool that is open April through October (and it’s heated to a balmy 79 degrees). I also have a tandem bike for those who want to take a day cruise. Although the Cottage doesn't have a full kitchen, it does have a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator, and single burner induction cooktop as well as all necessary cooking items - and some frills- to create a stovetop meal inside the Cottage. Recent guests have been delighted with the options. While I do not offer a traditional kitchen, I do offer a workaround. You also have access to my grill at poolside and the vintage outdoor table that seats six. If you forget something or find a need for it while staying in the Cottage, don't hesitate to ask. I probably have it.

After arrival, you will be given a set of keys and a gate fob to operate the gate. Give me a heads up on your arrival estimated time, and I’ll make sure to open the gate for your entry. Most guest prefer to go old school and use a traditional hard key which is issued to all guests in arrival.

To get to the pool, there is a walkway straight out of your front door, in front of the main house garages and to the side of them. Follow the side walkway and you will see the security gate. Lift up on the plastic child lock and pull it toward you. It will automatically swing shut when you walk through. If you accidentally go to the other side of the house, you will find the trash receptacles :) always a good find, and you can get to the pool from there, it's just not as nice of a walk.

Trash receptacles are through the breezeway between the main house and the cottage near the rear of the cottage. The tan receptacle holds recyclables and the dark receptacle holds other trash.

Depending on the time of year you are here, please feel free to pick fresh fruit from the trees (apple, plum, cherry, and sour cherry), or veggies from the garden. I do ask that you close and securely latch each gate you pass through so the dogs do not take a walk about the neighborhood and annoy my neighbors.

Fishing - the fish jump all day long. I watch them from my kitchen window. I've caught them at all times of the day and from on everything from a lure, worm, and balls of fire. Make sure you have an Oregon Fishing License, but it's really relaxing to just walk down there and throw the line in for a few minutes in the evening.

Fire Pit - There is a fire pit poolside and firewood near the west hedge. Feel free to build a fire in the pit, if you plan on staying up and watching stars or roasting marshmallows (I have marshmallow sticks).

Note: I do have one elderly medium-large sized dog, and one puppy onsite. The are very affectionate and somewhat demanding of attention if they get their way. Neither has ever been aggressive in any way. They will enthusiastically greet you every time you come home, open the door, say their name, look at them... if you do not want them to show their adoration, just tell them to 'go lay down'. They will leave you alone.

THE SALTWATER POOL IS CLOSED FOR THE SEASON. The pool is private to my home. Please Note: Guests from both my units are welcome to enjoy it. Occasionally I will also use the pool.

If you love dogs and fishing, like we do, this is the place for you. The resident dogs are very friendly and you can fish the rogue right from the back yard. The host makes you feel like your starting with family. If you're looking for a not traditional contactless experience, this is probably not your place. We were very well taken care of and enjoyed our time. We can't wait to go back.

Owner/VRBO host lives on the property with 2 dogs. We were awakened by a dog barking directly outside our bedroom. We had a very strange experience when the owner knocked on our door saying that the younger dog wanted to "meet us". The owner referred to the younger dog as a puppy. It was tall enough to sniff my crotch, which is not my idea of a puppy. The grounds are in need of attention. Also, there is a sign inside of the bathroom instructing guests to NOT flush toilet paper due to a "sensitive septic system". We left early and stayed at The Riverside Inn in Grants Pass. The hotel was reasonably priced and we had a lovely view of the river! The Riverside Inn is my recommendation if you are staying in Grants Pass.

Cutest little cottage in Grants Pass

We had a fantastic stay! Teresa is truly the hostess with the mostess. We got a late start and arrived late the first night and she was very flexible and kind. Easy to get a hold of anytime you contact her. This cottage was very clean, comfortable and was perfect for our little getaway to attend a family wedding. Close to the city center and all the things Grants Pass has to offer. Right on the Rogue River. Relaxing and great view. Thanks again

We had a quick trip (one night) and we were thoroughly surprised by the magic of this Grants Pass haven! Teresa is a lovely host , one of those people you could hang with for hours. She has created a community where all the guests mingle- just enough! The property is peaceful and serene and the quaint cottage has everything needed. I can’t think of one negative thing to say . Thank you Teresa for an unexpected retreat!

Loved This Cottage!

We rented this cottage for an extended weekend with longtime friends from our high school days (60 years ago). The Boatnik Festival, jet boat ride, and great meals together kept us very busy, and it was a respite to come back to this quaint cottage in the evenings. I can't say enough about the comfort of the beautiful four-poster bed. The cottage had everything we needed, and the large bathroom allowed both of us to hustle and get ready for the daily adventures at the same time. While we didn't get to enjoy all of the amenities this property offers looking out on the Rogue River. The saltwater pool is heated to 80 degrees, there is a BBQ grill to use, and nice lounges to enjoy in the sunny southern Oregon weather. The host communicates quickly in response to renting details, showed us how to use everything in the cottage, and made sure that we had all that we needed. We will definitely be returning before the end of the year to enjoy all of the amenities offered in this property. My plan is to enjoy the pool and just relax on the lawn while listening to the waters of Rogue River.
