We stayed one night on our way to Stockholm. Hotel has an extraordinary view over the lake and a nice walk through the nature reserve below. On a busy road but rooms were very quiet.

The hotel is perfectly located between Malmö and Stockholm and makes an ideal stop if you’re travelling between the 2 cities as we often do. Peaceful with beautiful views! It’s hard to believe you’re so close to the motorway. Friendly staff who are always welcoming. A characteristic main building and a great breakfast. Plenty of chargers on site which is a bonus if you own an electric car. Stayed here many times and will definitely be back!

The main building of the Gyllene Uttern looks like a Scandinavian castle. Perched high above Lake Vättern, it has a grand view of the lake, whether from a large terrace, one of its several lounging spaces, a glassed-in dining room, or from rooms facing the lake. It also has a baronial dining room, in which the very good breakfast buffet is laid out. We dined there in the evening, as well, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed comfortable suites overlooking the lake. The one disadvantage is that the old, castle-like hotel does not have an elevator, which made carrying up luggage a challenge, especially as we three couples were of ages 60 to 82. There was no indication of staff to assist with the luggage, which is the reason I gave "Staff & Service" 4 stars instead of 5. It has two newer two-story auxiliary buildings, which do have elevators. We have stayed in these before. The rooms are very comfortable, but not as charming as staying in a pseudo castle.

I loved my stay here on a beautiful summer day. Great place for walks, view nature, gorgeous views of the lake Vättern. The breakfast was amazing and I took the opportunity to hike down to the lake for a dip. GORGEOUS

Fantastisk udsigt, lige meget hvor vi var. Det var anden gang vi boede på hotellet. Oven i købet på samme værelse som sidst. Værelset og badeværelse var meget pænt og rent. Dog syntes vi at madrasserne godt kunne trænge til en udskiftning, Ellers var alt fint og personalet var meget imødekommende. Vi kan godt anbefale et ophold på Hotell Gyllene Utteren.

Vi hade en jättefin vistelse på hotellet. Vi bodde i anexet som även det hade en underbar utsikt över Vättern. Allt var snyggt o fraicht och personalen var väldigt trevlig och hjälpsam.

Rummet hade fantastisk utsikt. Personalen var trevlig. Underbart gott i restaurangen. Andra (danska) gäster betedde sig enormt grisigt vid frukosten men det är inget hotellet kan hållas ansvarig för.
