"hotel is old, but it should be okay. many old hotels are cozy. here don't have central heater, no heating conditions. they use old heating machine. once reach set temperature, it will shut down after a while. so 2 hours it can drop from 26 to 14 degree. frozen at night, you have to wake up to turn on again. and washing room is separated, even room temperature is 26, washing room is frozen. "I never would have believed that the best meal of my Japan trip would be French food cooked in the shadow of Mt. Fuji, but life is funny sometimes. This place is FANTASTIC! From passing Google translate back and forth with the sweet proprietor, to soaking in the private onsen after a long day of walking, to watching Mt. Fuji out my hotel window, I loved every second of staying here. The location is fantastic as well - it's about a 10-minute walk from the touristy areas of lake Yamanaka, but that small distance makes all the difference in terms of peace and quiet at the end of the day. Can't recommend this place enough. And again: get the dinner package!!"
