The rooms were clean and cozy. The facility provided very helpful information. It was a fun cabin stay in the middle of our road trip. Worth the extra few min drive for such a wonderful place.

Stayed at the mountain cabins and overall it was a decent experience. Just a heads-up: the GPS didn’t pinpoint the exact location—we ended up a couple hundred meters off, so finding it was a little tricky. The access road is more of a service road for climbers, which we didn’t realize beforehand. The cabin itself was decent and comfortable, but it would’ve been helpful to know ahead of time that the bugs are really bad at night—we would’ve come more prepared. Definitely recommend bringing movies or things to do in the evenings since it gets pretty quiet.

A lot of mosquitoes. Literally sting you as if they are waiting for food for over years. Else it’s a great cabin.

Sehr einfach gehaltene Cabins im Wald bei Golden. Im Sommer gibt es dort sehr viele Mosquitos.

Stayed here for a night with my wife and young kids under 8. We all enjoyed the rustic look and feel. The kids loved the big fire pit for roasting marshmallows. The kitchen and communal dining area are wonderful. All the supplies one would need for preparing and eating food are here.

To be honest, the best thing about the Mountain View Cabins is its very adorable friendly husky named Willow. If she greets you, know she is a safe dog that only wants love. The stay was great, the ultimate feel of the "cabin in the woods" and lets you disconnect from your daily hassles and connect with nature. Be sure to carry a bug repellent spray since you're staying somewhat in a forest. Enjoy the campfire that usually happens between 7pm to 10pm, all so great for a warm time to get to know people from all walks of life. I sincerely wish to visit again, especially for Willow, so adorable!

Very nice remote location away from everything. Be sure to bring the bug repellent as the mosquitoes are really bad but only outside, not inside the cabins!

It’s up a mountainside off Hwy 1 so I bit difficult turning in if on opposite side of Hwy. Enjoy the rustic homey cabin.

It is about 15 minutes from Golden, not too far! It is in a remote area. The cabin was cozy, unfortunately the kettle in our cabin didn't work and we did find the water pressure for flushing was quite low. Aside from that, we did enjoy our stay!

You’re in the mountains. Bring bug spray! Take advantage of the community fire pit and the view point for sun set. Check out gym! It’s a cool gym built with wood and was a nice touch.

We did like the fact that our cabin was close to parking #2 . The check in was a bit awkward because there was a note that they were at the camp kitchen . I walked to the camp kitchen and it was full of guests . I had no idea who I needed to check in with . I walked up to the crowd gathered around the fire pit and asked if there was someone in charge . No response they just kept talking like I wasn’t there .. I did finally ask another by the grill and he was . The cottage had an everything we needed . We brought food and snacks and drinks so we were grateful for the fridge, microwave , electric kettle , and even the toaster. Excellent However the mosquitoes were horrible .we covered ourselves with off and still got bit . A quick walk to our cabin and quickly closed the door and we were safe from bites . The cabin even had a handy bug zapper to use Incase some got in . . For our reason on staying there was convenient to Kootenay ,Banff, lake Louise, Jasper , Glacier , and Golden ( ya gotta go see boo the bear ) , great scenery at pull offs and Banff was great for dinning and shopping . About an 1-1/2 hr drive . Not bad to save from the more expensive hotels . .we had a great time and will have the memories to share with family .

As advertised, basic cabin in the woods. Amenities were certainly sufficient: toaster, mini fridge, kettle, microwave, dishes and cutlery. Good shower with lots of hot water. We were only there for one night’s rest on our way through but the beds were very soft and that combined with the heat made for a very poor sleep.

Check in was great as I received an email beforehand explaining the check in process. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and the shower was hot so those points made it a nice stay after tenting for a few nights prior. I would suggest however that there be more light in the room, and more mini kitchen amenities such as a coffee maker, a garbage can and more glasses and utensils for a family of four. A wash basin would be nice too rather then doing dishes in the bathroom sink. There were BBQs to cook on and a coffee maker in the shared outdoor kitchen, but the mosquitos were insane so it made outside cooking almost unbearable. It was nice to have access to DVDs, however the two that we chose to watch stopped halfway through because they were scratched so we didn't get to finish watching either movie. All in all, although it was a nice break from tenting, we would not stay here again.
