Take the boat shuttle from Peace and Plenty Hotel, in Georgetown (1 mile south)

THE HOUSE - Summit Exuma is no ordinary vacation house — it is a true island estate, where soaring 28’ ceilings evoke a sense of grandeur and opulence. Private 500-foot driveway secured by an iron gate. Inside, the estate features a gourmet kitchen with commercial ice maker, a fully equipped private fitness center, and even a self-playing Grand Piano. The craftsmanship and finishes throughout are unparalleled anywhere on the island.

THE LOCATION of your vacation home on Exuma is extremely important to the enjoyment of your trip. When your whole vacation is within 5 minutes of the house, your vacation explodes with choices. Unlike most rental homes that have no walkable restaurants or boat lift and require very long drives down the winding two-lane road just to get to a grocery store or rental boat, Summit Exuma is set in the island’s most coveted area atop the hotel district just outside Georgetown.

• Three restaurants/bars down the hill, at the base of the driveway.
• The popular Fish Fry, home to 12 authentic Bahamian bars and restaurants including Shirley’s is a 1/4-mile to the right/south.
• The ultra-protected and calm water Jolly Hall Beach is 300 yards to the north. Think of the perfect beach... this is it.
• Quick taxi ride into George Town to hit the grocery store, straw market, Minn's Water Sports (boat rental), several more restaurants, boat shuttles to Stocking Island etc...
• Stocking Island/Elizabeth Harbor is where most of the boating, sandbars, beach bars, and snorkeling on Exuma happens. This is where you want to be. (Summit guests can walk to a private dock and catch a prearranged shuttle boat en route to Stocking Island.)

Summit Exuma is just a short stroll from Jolly Hall Beach — widely regarded as the best calm-water swimming beach on Great Exuma.

• Accessed via a discreet path, this pristine beach remains untouched by commercial development. As with all beaches in the Bahamas, it is public, but its hidden entrance and low profile keep it serene and uncrowded.
• Protected by surrounding islands and natural shoals, Jolly Hall Beach offers a half-mile stretch of tranquil shoreline, making it an ideal destination for swimming, relaxing, and savoring the beauty of Exuma as it was 50 years ago — and likely will be for generations to come.

While many vacation homes on Exuma showcase photos of idyllic, calm waters, the reality is that much of the island’s coastline experiences rough surf two-thirds of the time. Selecting a location with reliably calm waters is paramount, the best being Jolly Hall. Located down the hill and left 300 yards. For added fun rent a family sized dune buggy to dart back and forth to the beach!

-Rent a boat at Minn's and go explore. Experience the enjoyment of boating from island to island in some of the most beautiful waters in the world.

-Spend your day bouncing between Peace and Plenty Beach Club, Chat N Chill, and Baymahni Beach Club snorkeling reefs, sand bars, and swimming with the sting rays. Walk to the monument or explore the 2-mile windward “wild ocean” beach on the other side of Stocking Island. A great natural adventure for the whole family.

-Take a guided group excursion. Meet like-minded people. Some have described them as the experience of a lifetime.

-Get a boat and captain and let the day take you. Boat can pick you up right off the beach or private dock across the street.

-Visit the various restaurants on the island, hang out and connect with the local people.

Exuma is a small, low population island where everyone knows and looks out for each other. Go out there and mix it up!

EXUMA MARKETS, one mile south of Summit, is the largest grocery store on the island.
PRIME ISLAND MEATS, 3 miles north of Summit, is our first and best choice for food. It is owned by an immensely helpful guy from New Jersey. It has freshly imported meats (steak, chicken, pork, lamb, sausages) and seafood, as well as other grocery items like fruits and vegetables. They offer call ahead ordering. They are closed on Sundays.
Convenience Store: SMITTY'S (basic food, liquor and pharmacy) located 3 miles north of Summit.

Direct flights from Miami (American Airlines), Fort Lauderdale (Bahamas Air), Atlanta (Delta), Canada, Charlotte, and Nassau. More direct flights are always being added.
