Lone Star Rally weekend 🏍️
We came in on Friday just a little bit early and we were able to get our parking passes taken care of while we waited. There is a new process for getting your passes. It’s very easy but sharing so those of us that are repeat renters, it’s good to know. The view was awesome from our balcony. However, I didn’t realized the increased level of noice that would bring. All good though, we were at the Rally for that very reason. Beautiful condo, we would come back to this one again for sure. The location is perfect, just far enough to be away from all the craziness of the Rally but close enough to enjoy and return safely.

Galveston birthday
Everything about the condo was perfect except that it had not been cleaned properly prior to our arrival. There was quite a bit of sand on the floors and bathrooms.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and sorry that sand was in the condo upon your arrival. We can try and sweep and sweep and sweep - and if the condo is not occupied for even one day - since it is gulf front, sand will get in. We only wished we had know this was a concern as we would have had our housekeeping team return to make everything 5-star instead of only 4-star worthy.

Late September - no crowd, perfect weather
We stayed 4 days m-th. Beach was easy accessible, beautiful ocean/beach views from the balcony, living room, and master bedroom. We had everything we needed after we ordered grocery pick up from kroger and then from walmart (very close to condo).

Wow!!! We had an amazing time at this condo! The condo itself was very comfortable! A little hot for our taste but it was hot outside so really no way around it :)! It was spotless when we arrived and such a comfortable stay! Parking was easy! The pools were so fun! And it was beachfront which was a surprise!! No complaints at all for our stay here and will stay here again for sure!!

Will not go through Galveston getaway management again
Brian with Galveston Getaway is beyond rude. I will never rent through this company again. Was never informed of a parking fee even though I had my trip booked for months. When I spoke to the management company, I was treated so rudely and kept being told I was informed of the parking fee when in fact I was never told. Took me arguing back and forth with Brian and listening to him whisper how much of a b word I am while this situation was sorted out. Disgusting. The lack of customer service is beyond and I will be sure to advise family and friends to find another rental company with better manners and communication about ALL fees for renting this property.

If not so ludicrous this review would be amusing. Brian is the most gentle, kind human on the planet and wouldn't say S#!+ if his mouth was full of it, so to insinuate he was cussing under his breath is simply unbelievable. While updated to the current pricing since you booked - this verbiage has not changed - only the amount that the complex (not My Galveston Getaway) charges has been modified. "The Dawn Condominium Complex charge $40.00 per vehicle for stays of 1-3 nights and $50.00 per vehicle for stays of 4 nights or longer as a parking/resort/amenity fees. This is not a charge from My Galveston Getaway and is paid directly to the complex upon your arrival. They will issue a parking permit and may issue wristbands that identify guests who are authorized at the complex. They will also provide guests with the codes for the gates to enter the property - both drive-through and walk through. " We are sorry you did not read the description sufficiently to notice that there was a fee associated with parking here - as there is at almost every condominium complex and hotel in Galveston. And instead of arguing with you - we paid the fee for you which of course you neglect to mention in the review. Customer safety is our # 1 priority an guest satisfaction is a close second.

Breathtaking views and quaint
The pictures do not do this place justice! Best condo that we've ever rented by far. Cleanliness, decor, the view and location, absolutely perfect! I have 2 remarks, 1. I wish there were an option for a chain lock on the door as my toddler who loves to get into everything, was able to easily walk out of the front door. Thus, having to keep the recliner against the door for his safety and our sanity lol. 2. The pull out sofa wasnt like sleeping on a cloud by any means, it was an average sofa bed. Not super comfortable but definitely tolerable. We will definitely rent this gem again.

Ocean View, best for adults
Condo was well furnished but not so kid-friendly (glass top tables, no kids dishes etc). Kitchen was well-equipped except for very few drinking glasses. It was great to be able to walk directly across the street to the beach even though heavy traffic was a noisy obstacle. We wish the information binder in the condo was more informative: how to work TV remotes; codes for pedestrian gates; pool rules; information on local attractions and menus) Rental managers responded quickly to 2 problems: garbage disposal not working, and washing machine not filling. Kids enjoyed the pools although the “old pool” had cloudy water.

Memorial Weekend
We loved the condo, everything was so neat and clean. The views from tge balcony are amazing. The pools always seemed to be crowded with lots of kiddos, but it was a holiday weekend 😉 overall we had a great time and would definitely book again.

Great place on the Beach!
Overall, we loved the place and had a great time in Galveston Island. The check in process was a little clunky, office is difficult to find. My recommendation to make it an even better experience would be to stock a few basics for the kitchen (salt/pepper, PAM, etc). These are just a hassle to purchase and have a long shelf life. With this unit being across from the beach, some chairs and maybe a cooler to use would be nice too. Overall, would recommend to others!

Sister Vacay
Great place to stay. A beautiful condo with a fantastic location. You can sit on the lanai with your coffee in the morning and watch the sunrise over the waves. Everything you need to get started is there for you on arrival. We had a great time and would stay again.

This is a great apartment. Very close to everything. A great view of the water. Very clean. Only downside was it was upstairs, which was hard for my 81 year old Mom. And the beds were a little hard. Other than that. It was amazing!!!

Beautiful, sparsely stocked
The condo is lovely and spacious, and the view is stunning. The washer and dryer on site were really convenient. The sofa bed was comfortable for our daughter. The King beds were also comfortable for us and our sons. We did think the pillows were really uncomfortable. There is also a very limited stock of everything...one dishwasher pac for our whole stay, two small packs of coffee, thin blankets on the beds and no extra blankets or pillows at all.

Great place to stay!
We had a very relaxing stay. The emailed directions given were great however, I wasn't too impressed with the office gal. It was confusing in the office because they had a paper sitting on the foyer desk telling you to scan the code to pay for parking then go to building 2 to pick up the parking pass and wristbands. When we asked her where building 2 was, she pulled out a map and pointed at it...I had to ask her where that was and she said, "it's here at my desk". ?? I'm pretty sure if I hadn't asked, she would have let us walk around outside for hours looking for the right building! Thank you to the former guest that left the coffee :D We left extra coffee filters for the next guests. Only recommendation would maybe to have a few things for the beach but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you!!

I am truly sorry about the confusion with the staff of the complex (Not the My Galveston Getaway) staff. I will suggest that they might want to laminate a site map and somehow attach it to the same gate entry box where you are able to pay for their parking/fees and ensure that there is one in our guest information book in the condo as well!

Very convenient location. Be aware, most of the beach stuff is closed during the week. This was my last vacation with my children, it was special. This place is spacious with a beautiful view.

We wish we would have known this was important to you - we have vendors who will set up chairs & umbrellas for guests, etc. and would have been most happy to assists with these arrangements had we known. Gods Gals in Galveston
We had an amazing stay. The weather was mild for the most part, but did get to experience a beautiful storm with full light show on the water! The location was perfect and was convenient to everything on the island we found to do. We had a wonderful retreat of Laughter and Conversation and enjoyed meeting many local residence as well as other visitors who enjoyed hearing of our experiences while at the Dawn and around the town. So happy to share and look forward to coming back next year!

Easy access to the beach. The condo was clean and spacious. Pool amenities were very nice and there’s a Walmart next door so you don’t spend to much time on wasted travel getting supplies. Balcony has a great view of the beach. Great place to stay for convenience

We loved our stay. The location was perfect. Directly across the street from the beach and close to shopping. The unit was extremely clean and well laid out. The manager/owner was extremely nice and accommodating. We definitely recommend.

Nice family vacation
I liked that this property was across from the beach. Cute decorations and moderately comfortable. Great pool! Although we liked it ok I would not highly recommend it or stay there again myself. If you do stay here come prepared with everything you will need from salt to soap, coffee filters, extra dishwasher pods (only one given), your own pillows and blankets. If you like it cooler especially in the summer months this place is not for you. You are not allowed to have the ac below 72 and may come home to find it has been turned off or adjusted much hotter. I have just stayed at many other places that are much more accommodating.

Great view great location great find!
This place is great! The view is great! We had a party of six and were comfortable. There is plenty of room! A few things a potential renter would like to know: there are two outdoor pools (one heated, one not) plus a hot tub! The condo has Wi-Fi and streaming services. There is also a washer and dryer (but sadly laundry detergent is not provided). Walmart. Supercenter is just a block away and very easy to access. There is a bus stop nearby, and the island transportation system is cheap, only cost one dollar per person per ride. There is significant noise from the road outside but that road separates the ocean from the city throughout Galveston so there is really no way to get away from it if you want a view so you might want to bring earplugs or a sound machine. Also, only two packets of coffee are provided, so you might consider bringing extra in addition there are zero extra pillows and blankets and sheets. You will be provided with only the bare minimum amount of bedding required to sleep six people I do not share these cautions to be negative, but to make you aware so that you can come prepared . I feel that I got a good deal for the price I paid.

The VIEW was amazing!
Such a great view in just the right spot. It’s so convenient to everything. It was so good for our family to hang out in the evening after dinner to play games or watch a movie. The kitchen is very nice! Everything you need.

Christmas 2022
Really more than I expected. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Too cold to get outdoors but the sun was beautiful the sunrise was amazing and we all had a very merry Christmas. Surprised to see knats in dirty trash can and human hair on the floors and pillows. One bedroom was over heated while the other stayed chilled. Still was a great Christmas experience and right across from a Walmart. I would do it again.

Our stay was just fine. I know it is high season in Galveston, but I did think the condo was a bit overpriced, but we still had a great time. The only things you may need to add are: where to pull in for the office, gate code for autos, and gate code for walk-through gate in front. None of the code in the binder were current. Thank you!

Perfect location!
We enjoyed 3 nights recently. The location is wonderful, we were able to easily walk right across the street and rent chairs and an umbrella at Babe’s Beach. Walmart and Circle K are right next door. The condo is a corner unit with great views and a perfect amount of space.

Love this property and have stayed at several units. This was our first time in this particular one. We loved the view from the second floor and the balcony had a side view too so there was an amazing breeze. Very close to Walmart and a quick walk to the beach. It was perfect for the 5 days we stayed.

Quiet neighborhood & close to downtown
Very clean nice house. Was concerned with the neighborhood when driving in but quickly realized it was a very nice quiet neighborhood. The house is located within mins of downtown. Management was real quick on answering messages. We would definitely stay there again if we come to Texas.

Nice complex, best location
Very nice property in a great location. Unit was clean, well furnished and well maintained. Location is perfect, close to everything but not too close to be overcrowded. Just remember to register your vehicle when arriving at the property and consider an extra fee for parking.

Great place to stay!
Really had a very nice relaxing weekend at this property! Very nice unit with all we could ask for - incredible view of the gulf and the best access to great food and the beach! Enjoyed the ocean breeze on the patio, great food at Saltgrass, The Original Mexican Cafe and the Tipsy Turtle Seaside Bar & Grill. Also walked over to the beach, played in the water and soaked up some sun. Great place to stay :)

Needs some updating
Property location near beach is good, but condo had some issues. Stairway is steep and covered with black mold. Bottom of freezer full of an ice block and front of fridge is leaking. Sofa bed is absolutely awful and impossible to sleep on. Hall bathroom is moldy at ceiling. Bedroom nearest living room very noisy all day and night. AC seems to struggle and bedrooms are hot. Didn’t sleep either night. Could not locate remotes to tv and was confusing. Tv screen old and not compatible with HD or any attachments. Won’t be choosing this location again. 😞

Had an amazing weekend. Everything worked flawlessly. the place was exceptionally clean and we had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. The view from the balcony is absolutely gorgeous. The pools at the property were functional and beautiful. The hot tub worked great. Easy check in. Easy check out. Nice parking area. Was a much needed Mother's Day weekend away.

Overall a good experience…the condo was nice. The complex grounds are beautifu and well kept. The pool area with hot tub is only open till 10 pm—longer hours for hot tub use on weekend even 11 pm would be nice. That pool area could use a few more lounge chairs at least in groups of 4.not 3. Also , only 2 charcoal grills for entire large complex — gas grills are a must for vacation destinations easier and allow more people to take advantage of that amenity.
