Quaint mid-century motor inn on the Western edge of Fredericksburg's historic Main Street. Rooms are period-authentic and spacious. Ours had a picture window view of the nature preserve behind the motel with deer and other local wildlife. Walking distance to nextdoor German-themed restaurant, and just a 5-minute drive from restaurants and shops at the heart of the historic district. Reasonably priced, and friendly, accomodating staff.

It was okay just for a one night stay. Clean enough, but desperately needs to be updated. Paneling on doors is falling apart, ceiling above one of our beds was sagging, wondering how they keep each room warm in the winter as there were incredibly old and seemingly unsafe heaters installed into the walls. Staff was kind and helpful.

The staff at the property were professional and friendly. My issue is the cost of the room is not competitive at all with the level of service. No cleaning of rooms, we had to get towels and toiletries ourselves daily, pool closed due to staffing issues and no breakfast. All of this should be provided for the cost charged. This hotel is not remotely worth the money.

The Dietzel Motel is all you need! Great value, clean rooms, nice showers, good beds, cable TV and WiFi. Cool early ‘60s property. The staff are friendly and accommodating! We will be coming back!

Older property but great stay

Older version vintage hotel. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Outdated but cost and service was great based on the type of property it was. We will definitely stay again if visiting the area.
