Franeker is a interesting litte town with a rich history. "downtown" you will find the the world's oldest functioning planetarium. It was build by Eise Eisinga in his living room, partly to prove the end of the world was not near at all. "Super cute place , loved the interieur ,cozy fireplace. Nice view right on the water. The only thing that was not nice at our stay was the weather. Would go again in summer ! perfect little place to relax and it was nice it sleeps 6 . Friendly staff , would recommend definitely"

"We had a wonderful stay here and the staff on site was super helpful and friendly. We did have an issue with mosquitoes being in the house and bitting us at night, but I think that could be easily solved. Overall, we loved the place and our experience. The setting and feeling of the place was wonderful."

"Es war ein wunderbarer Urlaub. Wir haben die Unterkunft, das Grundstück, die Aussicht und die Umgebung sehr genossen! Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und richtig gut ausgestattet (Küche). Oft fehlen Dinge, hier war alles vorhanden! Der Außenbereich ist klasse, Sitzgruppe direkt am Wasser und auf der Terrasse gibts eine weitere. Zusätzlich gemütliche Stühle zum relaxen z.B in der Abendsonne, traumhaft! Es gibt einen eigenen Bootsanleger und man kann vom eigenen Steg direkt ins Wasser. Peanbuiten...

"Nice location on the beach. Room was nice, perhaps getting somewhat aged but that was reflected by the price. A bit longer walk in to Makkum itself, but doable and safe. We picked it for the water view and easy access to laundry facilities, right nearby, for the midpoint of our trip."
