"As this is the first review of the property we will try and be constructive. The apartment was very clean and everything was new. However the property differed greatly from our expectations. Look carefully at the photos on the website because the outside areas all relate to the large villa. Our apartment overlooked a building site where an old house was being renovated . "The hotel was a nice hotel. Clean and safe and in a quiet area. It is only a 15 min walk to the famous cathedral but it should be mentioned that it's a slight uphill (not an issue for normal people) but the most important detail is that there are no stores or restaurants nearby. They are all on the opposite end of the cathedral so it could end up being a 30 min walk back to the hotel. Not an issue for normal people except if you have been walking around all day, it could be. There are also no stores on the way back so if you buy water, you have to grab it and walk 30 min away or take a taxi. Breakfast was fine (good cold cut, cereal and bread spreads) but lacking warm foods. Just wet scrambled eggs, cheap sausauge and some veggies - no cook to order type foods. So essentially it is a glorified continental breakst. Just FYI. So NOT a 5 star hotel but nice hotel. Front desk staff were not friendly"

"At the end of your Camino journey, you want to splurge and book this hotel. Not only are the grounds beautiful and the location beside the Cathedral ideal, but luxuriating in a bath and having coffee and tea amenities in the room glorious after the long walk. The breakfast buffet was exceptional. Highly recommend!"

"One of the staff on reception (a blond lady) and a member of the bar staff were the worst I’ve come across in over 40 years of travelling. They were rude and unhelpful. This appears to be a common experience amongst guests. It’s a shame as the hotel is lovely but my advice to fellow travellers would be to look elsewhere."
