The cameras do not look into any interior spaces. The cameras record video and sound for 15 seconds when activated by motion

Quiet place

We enjoyed our stay Whiskey Bear. It was easy to get access and near all the events we needed to attend. We were there for a wedding at Sky Retreat and had lots of family staying with 2 miles of our location

Excellent place to stay!

Great place to stay - conveniently located close to West Jefferson, with the drive being short up 221. Close to Boone via 421 as well. Beautiful house, quiet location. Host was great, and house had everything we needed!

Wonderful Cabin!

We enjoyed our stay in this well appointed, super cute cabin! We stayed three nights and will definitely stay longer next time! I was “teacher tired” so we did not cook but the kitchen was well stocked should you need to whip up a meal!

Wonderful Cabin in the mountains

We loved Whiskey Bear cabin! The cabin is well appointed, the rooms are all a great size and there’s lots to do if you choose to stay in! The location was perfect for a trip to downtown Boone and a trip to downtown West Jefferson. Check in was easy and check out instructions were clear and easy to follow. Look forward to a return trip and will recommend to friends!

Cozy Cabin in the Woods

Fantastic stay. The owner got back to me right away when I had questions. Perfect for two families with kids. House was beautiful and beds were really comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Only 20 minutes from Boone and 30 minutes from Ski Resorts. Definitely would come back.

Yes, it's technically Fleetwood but that doesn't rhyme as well...Loved the cabin...very rustic feel with modern conveniences. Had a total of 6 adults, one teenager and a dog and always had plenty or room with plenty of places to enjoy the quiet. Well stocked...if you aren't a Keurig user the drip maker does leave a little to be desired. Fortunately there is a french press which was well used on the trip. Definitely returning to the area and if available would stay at Whiskey Bear again.

Love this place

Stayed at the Whiskey Bear Lodge for 3 nights. Although the weather didn't cooperate with us the first day, the lodge still made it a memorable and enjoyable experience for all of us. There were 8 of us in total (4 adults, 4 kids) and the layout was perfect. The kids loved hanging out in the basement and the upstairs "kids" room. The lodge has a rustic appearance but with nice modern amenities. The owners were extremely responsive and even helped us to diagnose a problem that we had with the wifi over the phone. The yard has plenty of room to explore as well. We will definitely be back!

Family visit

Overall pretty house and property, well furnished with split wood for use in the burn pit. Largest issue was even though air conditioning was listed on the description, it is just a portable unit in the living room. There is not central air conditioning. While this may not have been an issue in the winter, it was not a very comfortable stay in August.

Disappointed

This cabin has the potential to be so nice. It seems like it is just a rental property that is not kept up. Let me start with the positive. The kitchen was really cute and the fireplace was really pretty. The dining area had a nice long table that everyone could fit around. The basement had games to play and a separate den with tv and gas logs. This area was very dirty. Rugs had not been vacuumed, dead bugs, and was very cold. We tried to plug in the heaters but the fuse kept blowing. The gas logs smelled very strong. The smoke/carbon monoxide detector was not working. We texted the property manager a few times about it. They sent someone out and ALL of the detectors in the house had no or dead batteries. The shower in the upstairs bathroom had the filthiest shower liner I have ever seen. It was black with mold and red stains. I texted the manager but they never came to replace it so we all had to use the downstairs shower. The banister upstairs had mouse pee and droppings that I put my hand in accidentally. We paid a premium price for this cabin and it was not worth it! Very disappointed with this rental.

Whiskey Bear cabin was the perfect place for our family get together. We loved it so much that we stayed an extra night! Word of warning, do not leave an opened bag of Buc-ees Beaver Nuggets in your car overnight; bears love em'.

Great place for a mountain visit!

This was a great little cabin to stay in! We had 3 couples and a baby, and there was plenty of room. We enjoyed hanging out by the fire, sitting on the beautiful porch and having movie nights in the basement. There’s a fully stocked kitchen and laundry available (very helpful with a baby), and the main floor bathroom is beautifully remodeled. Kim reached out a day or two early so I had her number and how to check in, so I felt good knowing I had a contact for an issues! Two things were challenging for us: 1. Google maps did not accurately get us to the property. The house is set back from the road of the address, and we spent an extra 20 minutes driving around. Once we turned around and looked at house numbers (and used a sign pointing to a neighbor house), we found it. It’s easy to get to once you know to look for the numbers, but just be aware google maps might mess up the last couple minutes of your drive! 2. The beds were very firm. Great linens, we loved that there are 3 queen sized beds, and if only one person said this I probably wouldn’t mention it - but our whole party thought the mattress were very very firm. One couple did love that, but the other two did struggle I bit to sleep. But I know that’s preference so I didn’t change my rating for that!

Beautiful fall getaway

Such an interesting and lovely place to stay. The cabin is beautiful as is the surrounding area with fire pit. We all had fun and enjoyed different areas for kids and adults. Loved it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whiskey Bear cabin! We were there with family and enjoyed our time. It was a great location to go hiking from and into Boone too. The house is perfect for time together but big enough for separate sleeping space too. Wonderful place!

Relaxing Get Away

We wanted a relaxing place to get away for a few days when our full family could get together. The place was quiet and peaceful. Would consider staying again. Cleaning was ok, but not great and interior is darker than the pictures with all the tree cover (some liked that so they could sleep in later) some not as much.
