Looking for that mtn escape, look no further as APPLEWOOD COTTAGE is quite the charm! It is located in the North Georgia mountains. This quaint and cozy rustic log cabin home is nestled in the serene woodlands of Coosawattee River Resort, a private gated community in Ellijay, GA.

This adorable, country charm comfortably accommodates up to 6 people. The cabins sleep 4 adults comfortably while allowing the loft area for 2 kids with an exception of 2 others w an additional $25 fee each with futon sleeping arrangement. Applewood Cottage hosts 2 queen bedrooms on the main level and an oversized loft area with dbl twins and futon sleeping.

Enjoy the open space while sharing that morning coffee or tea. Kick back & relax on the full-size sofa, swivel recliner, or settle into one of the other two cozy chairs/rockers. TV or movie watcher? Then you’ll surely enjoy viewing on one of the 2 new 65” Smart TV’s this cabin has to offer. There is an adorable country dining area and an open kitchen with updated stainless-steel appliances. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare and serve a simple family meal, minus the food, of course.
For anyone staying during the winter months, in addition to providing ambiance, the propane fireplace is sure to keep everyone warm and toasty.

Bed & Bath
The main floor offers 2 queen bedrooms, each of which have had recent mattress updates. Both bedrooms host Smart TV’s as well. The full bathroom is located in close proximity to both bedrooms. There is also a separate make-up/desk area just outside the bathroom for your convenience. Use it to spruce yourself up or write a note. It’s up to you.


The oversized loft area has been designated as a kid zone for both young and old alike. In addition to serving as a third bedroom having 2 twin beds for sleeping and a half-bath, it has a separate area for relaxing, TV watching, playing games, etc. This area hosts a second 65” Smart TV, as well as a DVD
player to enjoy movie time, either snuggled up on the large futon or lounging on the floor with the large throw pillows provided. Check out the large collection of DVDs from family-friendly, kid’s picks, chick￾flicks, and fast-paced guy choices. There’s something for everyone. Prefer game playing instead, then there is also a large selection of board games tucked away in the bench seat close by.

The back deck hosts patio seating and a nice place to watch the wildlife, as this community is known for its beautiful deer crossings. Be sure to have your camera ready, as these often-seen creatures are yard ornaments! This space also offers a BBQ grill area. The grill itself is connected to the cabin’s large propane tank, so it will be ready to go when you want to enjoy a freshly grilled meal to possibly enjoy dining outside.

Enjoy the fire pit area for chilling out and roasting marshmallows. It’s easily accessible just adjacent to the front door. There is also a country bench swing to enjoy, which is so relaxing and adds to the charm!


Guest amenities include complementary Wi-Fi and Cable TV, with the option for live streaming through your personal Netflix account or other apps. There is also a convenient washer and dryer. The spacious driveway has room for off-street parking. The community itself offers the enjoyment of several beautiful river parks, hiking trails, a duck pond & river fishing where catch and release are allowed.

Access to separate resort amenities are also available during your stay. Each guest will need to sign in at the POA to register in order to receive amenity access. This would include the use of 3 pools, one of which is a heated indoor pool, putt-putt, tennis courts, youth game room, tubing, and even horseback riding. If interested, please inquire at the time of booking a reservation.


Applewood Cottage is conveniently located just ½ mile inside the Ellington Gate entrance of Coosawattee River Resort. This country charm is only 5 minutes away from all downtown Ellijay’s quaint shops and locally owned restaurants.

Travel a mile or 2 in the other direction, and you’ll find a large selection of eateries, from fast-food to sit-down: American, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, downhome BBQ & more. There are wineries and Brewhouses galore to explore in and around Ellijay. Don’t forget to make your experience complete by visiting one of the many apple houses in or near Ellijay, such as Panorama Apple House, for apple picking & sampling of local treats.
