This was a fine place to stay for one night. Beach is within walking distance and there is easy parking in front of the hotel. Room was small and the furniture was a bit old, however the shower in the washroom looked brand new. Seems family-friendly. Staff was challenging to get a hold of when we were trying to ask questions and check out, as the front desk was nearly always empty. We didn't have time to dip in the pool however it looked nice - the property includes a porch and lots of outdoor verandas/places to sit.

Pleasant surprise

Pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and you could have fit 5 people in the shower. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great. The room was clean with a great view of the Pacific. We didn’t have a chance to use the pool but it looked very inviting. The refrigerator in the room, the shared open kitchen and grill were a big plus. The only issue was the barking of the neighborhood dogs during the night.

El hotel esta en excelente condicion. La atencion es cordial y el servicio fenomenal. La playa esta cerca. Lugar muy seguro y acogedor.

expensive for what it is, i paid 100 a night for a room full of bugs and dirty smelly bathroom, this is worse than a 1star motel

I loved my time here, but be aware: this is a bed & breakfast! Very clean, friendly staff, and a security guard is present in the evening. You will have to figure out your own lunch/dinner, but it is a 5 minute cab ride into town (these costs can add up, no fridge in the rooms either). For a clean & friendly jumping off point, I recommend it - definitely not a 5 star resort. I had a wonderful time in Costa Rica and would recommend this hotel for the adventurous traveller. You’ll do most of the legwork but it’s a nice place to come back to at night. Not really any entertainment here, it’s just a small hotel.

It was a very nice place to stay. Had a kitchen that was open to all. The grounds are not very well kept. Staff could be watering plants and cleaning up outside areas instead of just sitting around all day. Nice pool, very friendly and helpful staff. Great shower. (Room 9)

I enjoyed staying here very much. Such a beautiful, traditional place with such a warm and welcoming vibe. It’s a quiet and peaceful location and atmosphere. Wonderful staff that made us a incredibly delicious breakfast to enjoy on the veranda with amazing views while we ate. Loved that the beach is just a short walk away. The beach was wonderful, quiet and breathtaking. Make sure you are at the beach for sunset, gorgeous. If you are looking to get away from a traditional hotel this is the place. I would love to stay here again.

Barking dogs 3 next door all night long, even with ear plugs had a hard time sleeping. Too bad as staff and facility are nice. Would not stay there again because of the noise.

Lovely staff, very clean, & very quiet. The pool area was tiny and very hot, but since the beautiful beach was only a 5 min walk it didn't really matter. It was exactly what I was looking for!

Beautiful property and nice quiet location which is close to the beach. Restaurants and shops are 10 minutes away also. Wonderful friendly staff and good breakfast and coffee in the morning.

Nice stay with a tiny, but painful, problem.

A nice traditional Latin American building with a small pool and nice community kitchen. Not directly on the beach, but within walking distance (400m or so) of black sand beach. Clean and the staff, with the exception of one young lady at the front desk, were super friendly. The bed was comfortable, but I got bitten by tiny little ants every single night.

This hotel was a disaster. One of the worst places I have ever stayed and certainly the worst experience I had in Costa Rica. 1) There were fire ants coming into our room throughout the stay, likely through the broken window. 2) the grounds are completely unmaintained. For example, there is an old toilet lying in the front garden. 3) The staff added a 40% upcharge to the boat tour they booked for us, we found out only upon hearing that others on the boat had paid less. 4) Dogs could be heard howling and fighting throughout the night. This hotel was supremely disappointing. The owners have completely neglected it and seem to be doing only the very bare minimum to keep it open. It does not even look functional when you arrive. It is a rip off at any price. If you are on a budget do yourself a favor and just book a hostel in town. I guarantee you will have a better experience.
