Good location, luxury absent
We stayed in the apartment for a week in November. We arrived on a Saturday. CheckIn was easily beside that the local contact person doesn't speak English.
The apartment is located in the centre of Almerimar, close to the harbour. While the apartment was clean and decently furnished, we were asking ourselves on which standard this can be considered luxurious as this was mentioned in the description. Some of the interiour and equipment has worn.
On Sunday morning we figured out, that our food and drinks in the fridge were warm. Neither the fridge nor the freezer was working. It took until Tuesday afternoon (3 nights) until it was working again. We asked the host for compensation. After we asked for a second time, she replied that she will make an offer after we left! After our stay, she offered a refund of 50 Euros or 10% discount on the next booking, which we haven't take advantage off.
I would expect that a experienced host will check an apartment before handing it over, if it hasn't rented in a while.
Here ist a list of things that we noticed:
- the bathroom has no ventilation or the fan is broken
- the toilet was loose and tended to fall over
- on most of the slide doors to the balcony the rolls are coroded what makes them hard to open, which already led to damages that has been fixed with duct tape
- the boiler for the bathroom is located in the wardrobe in the main sleeping room, and the sound when it refills is very noticeable
