Excelente estancia, trato, vistas y comida. calidad precio insuperable. Alejado del nucleo de Calafate, pero si tienes coche es ideal al ser muy tranquilo. Altamente recomendable.

We liked Elken so much that we came back 2 more times after coming back from Chile and from El Chalten. In total we spent 4 or 5 days there. The hotel is by the lake and overlooks El Calafate from 10 Kms away. At night you have a beautiful view of the city lights. The place is quiet. The owner, Miriam, is great. She cooks and bakes every day. We really recommend to dine there Miriam's home made food. She also bakes cakes for next day breakfast every day. Best hotel for the price, service and location.

The view from the balcony is nice (not from the room). But the owners does not speak English and she is not ready to help customers. The hotel is far from the city and when you ask for something to eat at the restaurant of the hotel it is always complicated and she does not seem to want to make you dinner or lunch. There is no fridge in the room and you can not bring food or beverage at the hotel. They do not take credit card and they do not tell you in advance so it was complicated and expensive (fees). to go retire money at the bank at last minute. Do not do laundry there it is way to expensive. When we ask how much it will cost, they said: it dépends, we don’t know. Finally they charged us 23$ us for one normal bag (for the same bag it cost us 4$ the city before). It is really not well soundproof. My kids were sicks and did not sleep well during our last night so I asked if it is possible to have a late check out and she said no even if the hotel was empty (we were they only customer).

The place is a bit far from the town center, so if you're not driving you might find yourself riding taxis back and forth. We were in El Calafate for just a couple days and the hosteria was comfortable. We were there only in the evenings to go to bed and lefty early in the mornings.

Quality hospitality, great views, truly amazing dinners (pasta from scratch), fast wifi, clean and comfortable rooms. Good value for the area. Included breakfast is basic and uninspiring. Laundry service is available, but quite pricy. We extended our stay, would stay again and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone else.

Pasamos 5 hermosos dias en Hosteria Elken. Un lugar muy familiar impecable muy limpio y sus dueños muy amables. Muy recomendable Un poco retirado del centro de la ciudad pero los dueños ayudan a llegar.

Lovely view of the lake and staff super friendly and helpful. It is about a 10 minute drive outside of Calafate Center though. Great view of Lago Argentino from the balcony!

Ótimo atendimento realizado pela proprietária, que se esforçou muito para que nos sentissemos em casa! Boa estrutura e bom café da manhã! Único ponto negativo é a localização, visto que fica um pouco distante do centro! Ideal para quem está viajando de carro e procura um local para pernoitar e descansar! Ótima vista do Lago Argentino a partir da varanda!
