This was a great place to stay for the family (husband, wife, 2 kids, and their grandmother). It has a very well appointed kitchen with everything we needed. It even had a pretty extensive spice drawer, which was unexpected. This was just a quick couple day getaway to Charlottesville for us. The property was located 5 - 10 minutes from about everything we needed.
My 6 year old daughter and I really enjoyed "trail blazing" (as she put it) in the woods behind the house. It gave us a "taste of the mountains" (really just some hills) without us actually going into the mountains.
I cannot say if this is the case, but it doesn't feel like a property that was intended for vacation rental. It feels lived in like it was a well used and loved in-law suite that is in its second life as a vacation rental.
No vacation rental is perfect, but this one was quite good.
