Absolutely fabulous weekend! Lovely room and we received a surprise upgrade with a spa bath! Fresh and tasty food at breakfast and restaurant. Staff are all top tier! Couldn't be more helpful, friendly and we have never felt more looked after than we did during our stay. We will definitely come back again. Spa was amazing and facilities spotless, we felt very relaxed and spoilt. 5⭐️ service all around.

Hotel has nice decor and the room was clean. However, noisy guests and smoking marijuana outside the hotel due to location (lots of strange pubs nearby). The photo of the hotel is deceiving. It's right on a main road which is in a pretty run down area. SPA We booked to have a nice relax in steam room and pool. However, you have to pay £50 per person just to sit in a steam room for 2 hours. A bit excessive.

Large carpark behind the hotel but filled up quickly at the weekend and 2 or 3 in front of the hotel probably for check in. Staff were great, knowledgeable and a smile on their faces. Which is a big thing with me. Check in went smooth and a first floor room there is a lift should you need it. The room was clean comfortable, with the usual included in the price shampoos, soap, Nespresso machine and a kettle for tea. TV which was a smart TV be it wasn't connect to the free fast ish wifi. Bath room had a small spa bath, shower and TV at one end of the bath. I didn’t use the spa but my wife did where she had a massage came back moaning she was sore so it must have done her some good. In the basement there’s the Oak restaurant with restaurant food. Having looked for other places to eat in the centre of Dumfries the Oakes is arguably the best food there and open 7 days. The other restaurant is where they serve the breakfast. Which is a buffet breakfast with all the usual items with nothing unusual. Coffee was nice as well. No big deal but i was told to check my bill. Which i did 5 days 10 breakfasts except we only had 8 breakfasts, as we dined else where for 1 morning which was annoying but i sent and email and I assume its being attended too. Would i go back in a heartbeat nothing to dislike. My golf friends may also book there for next year with one of their golf packages Great keep it up just a same about the bill. The gentleman on reception was very pleasant but the hotel has seen better days. The lift was out of order so we had to haul our luggage up the stairs. The room was very run down and not very clean. It was disappointing, really.
