This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in my life. I am a typical traveler—I don’t go to crazy places in bad areas, but nor do I take luxury vacations. I expect a clean bed, a clean bathroom, and a roof over my head when I am staying at a hotel whether it be in Los Angeles or a rural community.
Our room at the Suites was dirty, broken, and unkempt in so many different ways. I can tolerate an aging property. But it was evident things had not been cleaned sufficiently even in the short term. Our toilet was dirty and did not flush. The shower was dirty with mold and hairs and included several empty toiletry bottles. The room itself contained a balled up, dirty blanket and pillow when we entered, and there were dishes in the dishwasher.
Worse yet, service was deeply unhelpful. We notified them of the broken toilet multiple times, and indicated we would be out of our room for twelve hours each day during which time they could fix it. They declined to do so, and gave us $50 off our total stay! On a high-demand weekend, $50 was an embarrassingly low proportion of the room cost. It was clear the staff were used to these types of complaints and are not being backed up well by management.
Management has not responded to my repeated requests for more information.
I am open to changing my mind on this property as it is well located and I’ve heard of others having better experiences. But I cannot ever recommend a hotel that refuses to provide me with a functioning toilet.
