We were unaware of the amount of children running around. We assumed there would have been more of a mature crowd in this facility. The old feel in parts felt sorry rather than historical. Bed was comfy. Staff was nice. Room was medicare.

We didn’t stay long, but the check-in was effortless and staff was very friendly!! Staff gave advice for things to do around town without asking and seemed inretested in giving us a great visit in Dubuque.

It's a restored hotel,beautiful on the inside. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.

I enjoyed it. Only downside is the size of the parking lot. When I went to leave, there wasn’t enough space for my regular sized F150 to back out without hitting another vehicle. I had to wait until the car behind me left before I could get out of the parking spot. Next time I’ll back into the spot 🙂

We were in town for a family wedding at the Mississippi River Museum/Aquarium so this was super convenient location. What a beautiful old original hotel! The hotel Julien is a landmark and has kept the old timey feel BUT with such classy renovations for modern comforts. The room are spacious and clean and the hallways are so quiet! Doors close tightly without slamming! We ate at Caroline's 2x and enjoyed the Riverboat Bar 2x as well. Wonderful staff everywhere we went. It was heaven.

Beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly. Issue with the pool and certain staff’s children running around screaming and hanging on the handicap pool lift. This is a pool for guests and should not be abused by staff.

We love this hotel and will stay there again! Caroline’s is one of favorite restaurants and we eat there at least once when we stay. My only complaint here is parking! There was a wedding being held and the guests took all of the parking spaces and it took us an hour to find parking, then we were scared to leave and do anything because we knew we wouldn’t be able to park again.

Have stayed many times but this time was not the best. Picked up multiple items (clothes tag, bottle cap, and ace bandage) off the floor in our room. Also the noise level was extremely loud from the adjoining room next door. Old building so trying to keep that in mind, but next time I’ll request an interior room (to avoid outside noise) as well as something that is not adjoining.

Beautiful older hotel. Pool was awesome and room was spacious and beautiful. Rates were very affordable. Dubuque is a super cool little town. Would highly recommend.
