"We loved this hotel. The grounds, lobby, and rooms were all immaculate. Having the ruins right out back to explore was awesome. We were in close proximity to everything in town. The bathtub was lovely for a bubble bath; the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming at all times. I only had two small issues, neither are large enough to remove a star but I want to mention them anyway. I think either explaining at check-in or having a little sign in the room to explain that you have to insert your room key into a device on the wall to make the lights work would be helpful. maybe this is just ignorance on my part, but I had never seen that before, so I was completely lost and had to go back to the front desk to ask what to do. The second is the TV. I think all hotels at this point should have smart TVs. There is nothing on basic cable. We got to the hotel early in the day for the purpose of relaxing indoors all day after a busy few days of travel and it would have been nice to have more options for TV. Even with those issues I really can't complain as this is clearly a well-run and well-kept property, and we would be pleased to return."

"Wir haben zu viert 2 wunderbare Wochen in Evas Ferienhaus verbracht. Trotz des Umstandes,dass wir erst nachts ankamen,wurden wir herzlich empfangen.Im Haus war alles zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit: gut ausgestattete Küche, sehr gute Betten in allen Zimmern, starkes W-LAN, TV mit deutschen Sendern, (was wir allerdings garnicht nutzten),Kamin....Als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in alle Richtungen liegt das Haus schön zentral im Herzen Irlands, Wer Ruhe und Entspannung sucht, ist hier richtig...morgendlicher Sonnenaufgang aus dem Küchenfenster, Kühe,Schafe,Esel-- einfach schön."

"Barley Harbour Lodge "Trout" was a wonderful place to stay. The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped, and it was very peaceful and quiet. Eva was a thoughful host and gave us a half dozen fresh eggs from her chickens. I enjoyed sitting outside with my morning coffee (on the days it didn't rain) and listening to the birds, and the cows made fun neighbors. It is also a good base for exploring the area, as it is centrally located. There are many fascinating sights nearby, including the mysterious Corlea Bog trackway and Rathcroghan archaeological site. We really enjoyed our week-long stay!"
